I'm soooooooooo tired.

I'm 9+2 today and delighted to be pregnant but the tiredness is really problematic.

I want to be in bed by 8pm, that's after a daytime nap.

I work 2pm-10pm so it's really affecting my work.

Is this normal? and more importantly, when will it go away?

I am always v tired in 1st trimester I think a lot of women are. Only advice I can give is to rest as much as poss as you can't really fight it :( hope you feel better soon!

Leilababyno1 · 21/03/2011 19:49

Sorry to say but it only gets worse..Wink

When I cast my mind back 16 weeks was quite a nice time...

1st trimester and 3rd trimester are definitely the worst...Just get plently of sleep(whilst you're not getting woken up every night by kicking..Sad) AND eat, eat, eat to keep your energy up!

Congratulations BTW!

Congratulations.

I feel for you but I am also envious im 31 weeks and finding it hard to stay asleep at night, acid reflux is a nightmare!
Just rest as much as possible, I got better during second trimester had abit more energy.

Hello, I'm 6+2 and I'm sleeping that much too. It seems like I'm awake to work (8-5) but other than that I'm asleep. Am really starting to miss my husband let alone my life!!!
I don't understand how people do this when they already have a child?

greenzebra I'm the same (31+4) and cannot sleep for blinkin'acid reflux. What are you taking for it and is it working? Gaviscon makes me retch and rennie isn't touching the sides at the moment :(

Chocolocolate It does ease off during the second trimester - just try and ride it out, and cat nap where and when you can. Don't do what I did and rely on sugary snacks for a quick fix as the sugar crash was HELLISH. I feel asleep at my desk one afternoon Blush Congrats though nonetheless :) Twill be worth it!

greenzebra · 22/03/2011 08:45

wobblyweeble82 not taking anything really, just asda's antacid tablets when its too bad. Wish something would work, its making me feel sick as well at the moment, it would be alright if you could sleep at night but waking up at 1-2am because of it is a night mare.

wobblyweeble82 · 22/03/2011 09:49

greenzebra It blinkin' hurts doesn't it? I have to prop myself up and ride it out but I'm awake for a good hour and half with it every soddin' night. Ah well, if you find a magic cure be sure to pass it on. My midwife advised me to eat earlier on so we eat at 5pm now but it still causes havoc - must be the lying down part. Still, 8 weeks to go - thoroughly do-able Grin

greenzebra · 22/03/2011 09:52

wobblyweeble82 do-able yes but so exhausting! If I find a cure I will tell all, but I very much doubt it. I was up for 4 hours last night, ended up watching that Dugger women have her 18th kid on sky tv. I wonder if she has a cure?

wobblyweeble82 · 22/03/2011 10:08

greenzebra She doesn't need a cure, she needs a chastity belt ... 18?! I felt a difference down there after just the one! All I think of is a baboon's bum Blush ...
