It's my due date tomorrow and to save myself from depression I'm trying to think of all the things I can do/have when I'm not pregnant anymore, here's my list:
-diet coke (I try not to drink too much caffeine so don't have coke and only have one coffee a day.....sometimes a large one)
-soft eggs
-every type of cheese without having to think about it
-a glass of red wine (but not straight away)

Drink wine - a lovely large glass which can be replenished often!

Large g&t please. Make it a triple!

Prawns - lots of lovely succulent ones

Mussels - mmmm

After the food and probably a long time after the birth, get back on my lovely mountain bike and tackle some steep descents! and attempt to get rid of my giant ass that will now hang over either side if the saddle, causing me to be ridiculed by other m'bikers!

Ditto for doing up shoes without feeling like passing out!!

mamamona · 22/03/2011 12:44

have sex in the missionary position without the fear of suffocation!

bubbles8987 · 22/03/2011 13:03

At only 7 wks pregnant, I can honestly say the one thing im most looking forward to is not bloody panicking about every single twinge or lack of twinge!! Running to check my knickers in toilet, squeezing boobs to see if they are sore, brushing teeth to see if it still makes me gag....etc etc.... oh, to have a bump which kicks would be so wonderful right now!!! (but yes, i know when it comes I will moan about it being sore, uncomfortable, heavy etc etc....im never happy!!)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 22/03/2011 14:24

I have eaten rare steak several times during this pregnancy, decided that the risks are minimal and my god it tasted good Grin

Sparklies · 22/03/2011 15:02

Last pregnancy I spent some time on hospital bedrest in America (long story). Anyway the hospital I was in had "room service" which was a menu you could order from at any time of night or day.

Let's just say a good half of the menu seemed to involve blue/soft cheeses, runny eggs, rare steaks and all sorts - quite clearly targeted at women who had just delivered! A nice touch I felt, but a little frustrating for those of us in for the long haul to be tormented by this stuff..

I miss a good old bit of fresh Stilton personally (it's good, but not the same cooked). And I really want to go for a run again!

ThistleDoNicely · 22/03/2011 15:06

Oh dear, I've eaten prawns. Is that bad? I thought cooked shellfish was fine?

I would eat soft duck eggs, and brie, and goat's cheese and drink a (large) cool G&T - but just the one as I plan to breast feed. Quite fancy tiramisu as well now that it's been mentioned.

Biggest dream at the moment is to lie on my front and sleep through the night without having to get up to pee at least twice....heaven!

doireallywant3 · 22/03/2011 15:25

brie & grape baguette, brie, bacon & cranberry baguette, cold, crisp, dry white wine, crab claws, oysters, mussels, prawns, more brie, a bit of st agur, foie gras (i know I know), more crisp, cold dry white wine, a little snooze on my front, going back to my exercise classes (brit mil fit), cheeky fags.
what a fabulous thread!

OrganisedMayhem · 22/03/2011 15:33

Pate, BIG glass of red wine Wine, pub gardens in the sunshine enjoying a cold lager or a glass of white wine, rare steak, Rare roast beef dinner, blue cheese and every other banned smelly cheese that has been out of the fridge for a good 30 minutes so it is all soft and gooey, mussels, oysters strong coffee.....
Yum, Yum. Only 17 weeks to go!

bishboschone · 22/03/2011 17:38

go on a roller coaster!

bishboschone · 22/03/2011 17:39

and sit in the garden with Pimms (baby due in July )

msbossy · 22/03/2011 17:43

Enjoy a glass of champagne (it's been in the fridge for theist three weeks!)

Moules et frites

Giving my 2 yr old a big proper huge cuddle Grin

Want2bSupermum · 22/03/2011 17:48

I can't wait to go for a run. Before that I will consume a large plate of sushi rolls and wash it all down with a nice glass of white sparkling wine (also due in June/July).

I can't wait to not get leg cramps. I had one last night and woke up DH and the dog screaming. Not nice for anyone.

wobblyweeble82 · 22/03/2011 17:53

Oooh msbossy, I'm with you on the moules. I make my own cider too so that's high on my list, as is a glass of red - the kind you can spread on a piece of bread, such is it's heaviness :) Oooh and a cheese board, complete with a marvellous vintage port. I too can't wait to sleep on my tummy and sort out the grimness that is my trotters ... I'm also rather looking forward to staying awake AFTER 9pm, with aforementioned cheese/port/wine/cider, followed by a glorious night of nookie Grin Not looking forward to the onset of gout in autumn though ...

mrswantstobeamum · 22/03/2011 18:34

I'm looking forward to:
-Having sex in the missionary position and then falling asleep on my stomach
-Eating sushi, brie, camembert, goat's cheese and feta again
-Drinking red wine, champagne, a Crabbie's over ice with a slice, and a Pimm's cocktail (it will take a while to get through this list as I'll be BF)
-Switching from my daily cup of tea back to my beloved several cups of coffee
-Regaining an unobstructed view of/ability to groom my lady garden
-Not making grunting noises whilst attempting to get up or bend
-Going at least one hour without having to pee
-Losing the scarily vivid dreams in which everyone I've every known parades through at random
-Most of all: cuddling my baby in my arms instead of my uterus

mrswantstobeamum · 22/03/2011 18:36

Also wanted to add that there is no reason we can't eat mascarpone; although it's soft, it is not mould-ripened and it is pasteurised (like cream cheese and ricotta).

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 22/03/2011 18:38

what's wrong with mascarpone? Hmm

I'm looking forward to laying on my front, eating pate and drinking cider without feeling guilty. have had the odd half pint, but DH is adamant on not letting me eat pate.
Also, not having to pee every 5 minutes, day and night. I don't mind waking up to breastfeed, been there, done that. but waking up to pee sucks.

squeezing through little gaps without hitting my bump because I forget it's there.
Also, not having my husband blame everything on my pregnancy. If I am moody with him because he's done something wrong, I want him to know that, not to say "you're only being a bitch because you're pregnant".

oh, and being able to get up from the sofa without it hurting horribly.

aStarWithHerOwnWays · 22/03/2011 18:43

I have instructed DH to furnish me with a large runny cheese and pate sandwich and a vat glass of cold sparkling booze the very second I walk through the door with our second-born.

Once I have polished those off, I intend to phone my friends and arrange a wine-fuelled catch-up (for several months hence).

Caz10 · 22/03/2011 18:48

I've been eating peanuts this time round Blush eek!

Have also had a few mouthfuls of red wine but dying for a big glug!

Why no breaststroke?

Just being able to move slightly more gracefully and without grunting is probably my 1st wish!

onadietcokebreak · 22/03/2011 18:50

I was talking about this with a friend

Brie and grape sandwich on lovely fresh granary bread

Cheesecake

Mcflurry/whippy ice cream

Not at the same time though

LisMcA · 22/03/2011 18:57

Are we not allowed goats cheese? Oops!

DH is primed to bring pate to hospital when DS arrives.

I also look forward to being able to stand for more than 10 minutes without feeling like I've beenshot in my right butt cheek.

Pooing freely (sorry if TMI)

JD and coke, lots of it!

Being aware of my fanjo all the time (I realise this will not be instantaneous)

Beef Wellington, yum yum yum

LisMcA · 22/03/2011 18:58

Ooh and mr whippy ice cream (can anyone tell me why we aren't allowed that?)

glizzle · 22/03/2011 19:02

Champagne!!! I was a bubbles addict pre pregnancy and at 29 weeks am now just starting to really fancy it again. cerealqueen the hamper idea is such a good present, I shall starting hinting to all that I know immediately! And i want sushi, and all the cheeses, and parma ham, and i want to be able to go for number 2s without blocking the toilet.

mrswantstobeamum · 22/03/2011 19:08

Cheesecake is fine during pregnancy! Cream cheese (like mascarpone and ricotta) is pasteurised and not mould-ripened. The cheeses that we are advised to avoid are either mould-ripened or unpasteurised, or both.

Ivegotmrbitey · 22/03/2011 19:11

Yummmmmm! Oysters, Cockles, Mussels, Pate, a cheese board of the banned ones, a blue steak, chilled NZ sauvignon blanc, a massive gin and tonic and a perfect Pimms.

And then when I get home from the hospital, I would like sushi. Wasabi peas are just not hitting the spot!

AKissIsNotAContract · 22/03/2011 19:22

Melly: does that mean deep fried brie and camembert are allowed?
