Meralgia paresthesia

I'm 17 weeks and for the last few weeks I've been getting pains in my hip, shooting down my left leg.
My job means I'm on my feet for most of the day and I can usually time it to 20 mins before I start ache.

At first I thought it was just ligament stretching but when the area above my knee started to go numb I went to the Doctors she said it was most probably Meralgia paresthesia (pinched nerve in my groin) and whilst pregnant there's not much I can do.

I'm barely showing and I have a horrid feeling it's going to get a lot worse as I get bigger.

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with this and could give me any tips on how to get through the next 23 weeks. Hmm
I can't really be sitting down every half an hour or so in work

I had this from very early on - i went to see an osteopath who massaged the area, made it much better and actually started to fade by around 25/26 weeks, probably cos i had seem him fairly regularly (every couple of weeks). Definitely worth trying to see someone as no way you have to put up with it for the whole pregnancy!

Thanks LH, would I ask to be referred by my Doctor or would I have to go private?
