I'm just 16 weeks and don't "feel" pregnant, I've gained a little weight which is kinda bump like but could be mistaken for just being chubs.
I know it's normal to stop being sick etc but I seem to have stopped every symptom I had except every now and then I get kinda pulling pain in my uterus (?) (I don't actually know if it is my uterus but I'm guessing here...!) it kinda feels periody but not really the same just same kind of "sensations".
I'm probably being stupid for checking my knickers lots to make sure theres no bleeding but I'm really paranoid!! Just hope everything is ok and it's normal - has anyone else had this kind of uncomfortableness?
I'm also having the worst farts known to man. I did think that the feeling around there might be wind but it doesn't seem to be the same feeling. my stools are also very loose...
sorry tmi but I'm sure someone will know more than me to be able to tell me what's going on!

I had a phase between about 14-19 weeks where I felt "normal". The nausea had gone, i hardly put on any weight and if I didn't really think about it almost forgot i was pregnant. I really didn't feel pregnant at all, i had started to get a rounded tummy but me and my DH were the only people who could tell.
I did have round ligament pain when i turned over it would feel like a sharp cramp at the sides of where the uterus is. could that be the pain you are getting?
Try not to worry and enjoy the normal feeling (i'm now 33+3) Smile

Hi Smile

My sister in law had a scan at 15 weeks because her symptoms totaly disappeared.

Even more totaly than yours!

The 'babe' is now 4 years old and he is, and always was, absolutely fine Smile dont worry xxx

ahh that sounds good :)
I have my 16 week mw app. this thurs, will they be able to tell then if all ok?

I'm sure they will. If you're REALY worried still - at your appt. you may be able to get them to give you a scan b4 your 20 week one.

I know every day feels like a week when your worried.
Its killing me to wait these 2 weeks for my 12 week scan! Smile

ButterflySally · 20/03/2011 11:56

My midwife let us listen to the baby's heartbeat at our 16 week appointment - hopefully yours will too so you'll get the reassurance that all is ok.

I think it's quite common to 'lose' symptoms after the first 12 weeks so I wouldn't worry. I didn't particularly feel pregnant after the first trimester until I started showing and feeling the baby move (I'm now 22+1 weeks).

(I would say, though, that those farts your experiencing are definitely a pregnancy symptom!!) So I wouldn't worry too much.

ButterflySally · 20/03/2011 11:57

Soryry...*you're experiencing

hilltop666 · 20/03/2011 13:09

I felt the same hae no symptoms no real bump and had nothing to ask MW at 16wk app as nothing was happening or changing so she gave me a mini scan and everything was fine, kicks started at 17 wks but bump didnt appear to about 22 wks -still quite small but theres def a baby in there!

jazz412 · 20/03/2011 14:13

well today I look much more pregnant... perhaps that's just the big meal I had last night :)

Oh well I'm glad my farting is a pregnancy thing and not something I've just delveloped for life. Not sure if DP would enjoy the prospect of sharing a bed with them forever - as it is he gets up when he wakes up and says we can have morning snuggles on the sofa as the miasma of fart is killing him LOL

I hope we get to hear the baby's heart, at the 12 weeks scan they said they could see it beating nice and strongly but we didn't get to hear it :(
I've brought a cheapish doppler which is in the post if we don't get to hear it :)

get used to the pain and checking your knickers for blood (always good just to be sure), and the farts too. have had them all the whole time.

lucky you for nothing else - enjoy it : )

G1nger · 22/03/2011 11:30

Jazz412 I asked if I could listen to the heart beat at my first scan, and she was happy to oblige for a few seconds. She clearly wasn't keen on having it on any longer ;) You should ask next time - don't be shy! My sonographer said that they don't usually play the sound otherwise.

nunnie · 22/03/2011 11:36

A word of warning, some midwives don't check for the heartbeat until after 18 weeks, as there is a risk you won't be able to hear it before and it doesn't mean there is necessarily anything wrong. The hospital did mine, but said they would only do it if I was aware that they might not get one.

They did and it was very clear.

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 11:37

ohhh! I will ask!
is it normal for you to be able to hear it at 16 week with mw or will I have to wait until 20 week scan?

I can't say I'm enjoying the farts...

my husband has just told me he thinks the baby name should be "Fart" or "Brrrmp"...

... I have a feeling he is going to be running this joke for a while yet (he's already kissing my belly saying "I love you Brrrmp")

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 14:41

lol I think fart might be a middle name and stinky the first...

I second what nunnie said - at my 16-week appointment my midwife failed to find a heartbeat and sent me (in a huge, hyperventilating panic) to the hospital for an emergency scan to 'see if the pregnancy was still viable'. She was running late so didn't explain what the sonographer later confirmed: that you can't always hear the heartbeat at this stage.

I'm sure you'll be fine - I have had a completely symptomless pregnancy myself! Aside from getting fat :(

pettyprudence · 22/03/2011 15:11

Between 15-20weeks i felt totally normal too and was constantly paranoid that there was something wrong. My midwife didnt check the heartbeat at the 16 week appt - I think its so hard to find then that it causes more worry than reassurance! I too bought a heartbeat monitor but even at 39 weeks i still cant find the heartbeat so that was a massive waste of money!

I did fart a LOT though - oh my it would keep me (and DH) awake at night - so I don't think you are entirely symptomless Grin
