stitch type pain....reassurance needed!

Hopefully am worrying about nothing but am 12 weeks pg and have had really bad stitch type pain in the ribs on the right side for a couple of hours now. Been out to lunch with friends who don't know I'm pg as scan is not til thur and had a fair bit of caffeine which I generally have avoided. is this causing the pain? Really hoping I haven't put myself at risk. Has anyone else had this sort of pain?

I had an awful 3 hr car journey when I was 18 weeks pregnant with dc2 with a pain that sounds v similar to yours. It was a combination of trapped wind & constipation and I found that peppermint tea helped.

Google 'round ligament pain'. I had a similar feeling at around 12 weeks and this is what I decided it must be (good old Dr Google!) I hope the scan puts your mind at rest

Thanks so much for the quick responses! Had a look and could def maybe be some kind of ligament pain as I lug around my toddler on a daily basis. Am going to go and have a peppermint tea now too. Would be gutted to get to this stage and mess it up. Scan feels Like its taking forever to come round!
