I'm 12 weeks tomorrow and am absolutley ravenous today - more than normal and that's saying something. Had a piece of toast when I woke up, then McDonalds was calling to me on the way to work and had a sausage mcmuffin then a bowl of cereal and now don't think I can wait until 1 for lunch.

Please tell me I'm not the only one eating like a pig?!

I was on a training course for work at 12 wks and my day went something like this:- 7:00am porridge, 9:30am bacon roll and tea, 10:30 am scone, 12:30 chicken baguette and juice, 2:00pm muffin and tea, 5:00pm another muffin and finally 7:00pm steak pie mash and veg. Since then my appetite has dimmed slightly but at 21 weeks I still eat more than my husband and he is endlessly impressed and sometimes slightly amazed if I say I am full - ever!

I'm 15 weeks and pretty much throughout I have been stuffing my face from the moment I wake up. My partner and friends look at me like I'm crazy. I am now some days finding it difficult to think of what to eat... Because I feel sick everything is a no no, but then I need to eat so I don't feel sick! Extremely frustrating

Nope, I'm eating for about five I think (heading towards 20 weeks)!

I can relate, I'm 24 weeks and am eating constantly...always hungry. Have to admit I'm starting to feel full more quickly than I did, but I still eat every 2-3 hours all day! And when I get hungry, it's like I'll do anything to find something...and I turn into a crazy person until I get food!

I am 22 weeks and I am the same.
Was on the thin side pre-pregnancy (BMI 18) so I reckon I just need to stock up a bit. I have been stuffing my face for 5 months and haven't gained excess weight - I'd say do what your body is telling you, and eat!

PermaShattered · 18/03/2011 21:45

I'm 39+4 days (yikes!) with my 4th and in the first 6 months or so of this particularly pregnancy I'd NEVER eaten so much in ALL MY LIFE! Hungry ALL the time.

Very normal. It's your body's and baby's fuel requirements, hormones, etc. Don't worry about it, just eat sensibly...

coastgirl · 18/03/2011 21:48

I'm 19 weeks and eat so much all the time! I know they say you don't need any extra calories, but when I look at my boobs and bump (and I haven't put weight on anywhere else) and feel the baby wriggling about like mad, I can't see how it's possible not to need any.

mamapower · 18/03/2011 23:46

That starving feeling started at about 6 weeks for me, almost 12 now and still eating like a pig!! I think for some it's just the way it goes... one day I inhaled whole large bag of haribo magic mix in half an hour was still hungry afterwards Blush Grin

LDNmummy · 19/03/2011 15:52

I have been like that since 9 weeks. So hungry even now as I type and just ate Nando's an hour ago. Was feeling hungry from around 7 weeks but now I'm 11+4 and it is so much worse, I get crazy from my hunger right now.

If I know DP is bringing me food from a takeaway for instance, I calculate his journey time and brace myself till he gets home because all I want to do is eat eat eat!
