Eye-watering back pain - 3rd trimester

OWWWW. I'm 31 weeks and have suddenly developed the most excruciating back pain (coccyx region, shooting pain down leg etc). I'm fine if I'm stood still, but walking more than a minute or so and I literally can't carry on it's that painful. I have mild pelvic pain, and an occasional burning pain where I imagine my pubic bone is but nothing to write home about. Any ideas or advice? A bath alleviates whilst I'm actually in it, but as soon as I'm out and making my back downstairs I'm clinging onto the bannister and muttering profanities like nobodies business. Baby was breech and back to back 10 days ago but I have a feeling she's turned - at least one of way. Please advise - getting desperate :(

Ouch. I had similar pain earlier. My chiropractor explained it as my pelvic bone moving and causing muscle and joint inflammation. I iced the very bottom of my back, below the small of my back, and put heat higher up in the small of my back and slightly below. It helped a little.

I would consider trying to see x physio or chirobif you can.

spd could be causing it speak to your midwife and ask for an urgent referral to a physio

I get sciatica, as well as hip and groin pain and lower back pain. All have been eased by exercises given to me by physio.
