now that the sun has finally decided to emerge, i need a new coat!

i hate my puffy winter one and it's too warm to wear now but I can't seem to find any spring coats that are reasonably priced and not ugly.

Has anyone bought a spring coat online recently, preferably less than £40? Can you let me know where you got it from? Thanks!!

I bought a mac in the next size up from Autograph at M&S - I'm figuing on leaving the bottom button unbuttoned as I couldnt find any nice maternity ones!

personally won't spend now on a coat so i just wear my lightweigh new look parka undone, scarfs are your friend Smile

DH bought me (completely unprompted) a lovely mac style short trench thing (I'm sure you have the perfect mental picture from that lucid description Hmm) from Monsoon in the sale for about £25. I don't know how long the sale goes on onlin but it's lovely. It's in my normal size but the buttons stop just below boobline and the belt is a tie one at the same level as the bottom button so ideal for tying above bump.

I'd look for something like that if you must have a new coat. I certainly wouldn't spend money on a maternity one!

I bought a military style cape before it was freezing winter time but didn't get much use out of it as the winter cold set in earlier than I thought. I am going to use it now and because it is a loose cape style, it is a size 12 but can be worn up until the summer weather hits. Would something like that be a good idea? You could buy one cheaply of ebay or lots of high street shops. Oh and because it is a cape style, it can be buttoned and belted up nice and cosy or left free and loose for the cool air to pass through.

good point about the cape, i'll try to look somewhere this weekend but i haven't had any luck so far. my mom bought me one that was supposed to be a lose 'swing' type coat but it still didnt fit!

Or you could try a long, chunky knitted cardigan instead of a coat - bit more stretchy and can choose how many buttons to do up.
