there seem to be so many of us suffering pgp anyone want to have a moan or share stories and experiences or even tricks to help with the pain?
Firstly anyone with pain should look at www.pelvicpartnership.org.uk You do not have to put up with the pain there are things that can be done.
My story - i started with groin pain at about 18wks 3rd pg never had pain before. Was worse the more i did so managed it for 5 weeks by just doing less i.e no long dog walks Now 24 wks on crutches as i just couldn't bear it any longer. I self referred to an nhs physio and was seen in 3 days Got loads of exercises to do and those and the crutches and avoiding things that iritate it like walking up & down stairs are making it much more manageable at the moment.
My pain is either an ache in my groin /hip which can turn to a grinding sensation with every step or very sudden shooting pains through my hip which literally stop me in my tracks. I've also got lower back pain and sciatica.
Things that help me - sleeping with small pillow under my kness if on my back and between my knees if on my side. I found a small pillow more comfortable than a larger one but guess that'll be fairly individual.
Sitting and rocking on my exercise ball or rocking leaning over it. Pelvic rocking or any pelvic floor exercises.
In hind sight I've had a painful hip since my first pregnancy 20 yrs ago which no one has been able to diagnose It wasn't until the pgp started properly in this pregnancy that i realised what it had been all these years. I'm definitely going to try to get some manipulation done either during or after the pregnancy to deal with it.
Love to hear your stories and any other advice
