So here is the story so far...

29 wks with dc2. ds was emergency section under general Sad due to distress (his not mine!)
had to get general due to low platlets. Have since been diagnosed with ITP and see haematologist regularly.

I had kind of got my head round the fact that i would be a planned section due to high risks.

so went to see my lovely consultant last week and he asked what my thoughts were about delivery. I asked him if i was mad to even consider a vbac (lots of people have said not to!!)to which his reply was "it's the safest option"! as surgery is riskly with ITP ( I should of course thought that one through being a nurse!!!) Smile obviously totally delighted and the prospect of being given a trial of labour. Just wondered if anyone has any similar stories to share??

I had low platelets too (I got a call from my doctors asking me to go in). When I got there, he called the hospital haemeotology department and was chatting with a guy there when he said, "Well, she looks okay, doesn't look like she's about to faint."

Well, that got me worried! I don't actually recall what they did about it or whether they linked that to my pre-eclampsia (which meant that DD was just over 3 weeks early but no c-section). Either way, I was delighted to be in safe hands. Good luck!
