Hi Ive put this in money matters section but thought maybe someone here might know too.

Ive just read that on 6th April 2011 the baby element of child tax credit is being removed.
I am having my 2nd child by C-sect on 30th March so Im assuming that means I wont get it now.
Im just wondering how much the baby element is at the moment, am I right in thinking its double the child tax credit for an over 1 year old just so I know what I wont be getting lol.
Also does anyone know how much I will get for my 2nd son, will it be the same as what I get for my 1st son at the moment?
Just some background info, neither me or my DP are working at the moment as we were both made redundant and are currently living on jobseekers allowence, Child benefit for my 4 yr old and CTC for my 4 yr old son also.

Many thanks

I'm not sure about the exact amount, but I think it's something like £500 for the year.
You'll be getting the baby element paid for the period of the 30th of march to 6th of april, IRRC, though.
Not really sure about how much you're going to get, though, I must admit I don't look at the numbers too closely.
