I'm almost 34 weeks and these constant toilet trips are driving me to absolute distraction. This can't be normal? I would estimate I'm on the loo every 15 minutes - every hour or so through the night. Anyone else in the same situation?

Am 31 weeks and exactly the same, I think it's pretty normal particularly as baby's head will be lying near and pressing on your bladder!!

Not long to go now though Smile

Hi Allatsea1, I am 37 weeks pregnant and I am exactly the same. I am up every 90 minutes during the night to pee (sometimes it's every 2 hours and I'm delighted at the break!)During the day I seem to pee as much but it can depend on which way the baby is lying, if I'm getting alot of Braxton Hicks I can pee every 10-15 mins. But on average it's once an hour. Us pregnant women must keep Andrex in business.

I can't cope with it anymore! It's driving me nutty!

I am SO not looking forward to the return of the wee. It was bad enough in the first trimester and was I glad to get back to a bit of normality.

I'm 30 weeks now, so expecting the nightmare to return any day....

Sympathies to everyone.

I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and some days I'm on the loo constantly with dribbles, others aren't too bad. I think it depends how the baby is lying sometimes.

I was just about the same with DC1 & 2. Expecting more of the same this time as well (I'm only 23 weeks, but I'm already at the loo every hour during the day and get up 3 times at night).

I remember being so relieved that I got more continuous sleep AFTER the baby arrived because I could hold my wee for longer!

If you are feeling pain/discomfort it might be worth checking it isn't a urinary tract infection. They're very common in pregnancy.

I had one at around 34 weeks and felt like I need to wee LITERALLY the whole time. Even after going to the loo, I felt like I needed the loo. I thought it was a normal pregnancy thing, until GP worked out I had an infection. Cleared up very quickly with antibiotics.

Having said that, it might just be your baby's head :)

Allatsea1 · 10/03/2011 22:18

Pip I'll get that checked out as I feel the same way - get off the loo and need it again! Saying that I have always had a weak bladder so it was pretty inevitable that pregnancy was going to do this to me. Sympathy to everyone else. Thank God for maternity leave and the possibility for day time napping!

I have heard sitting the other way around on the toilet or leaning well forward can help to get you in a position where you can get more wee out at a time - might be worth experimenting a bit!

coraltoes · 11/03/2011 08:14

I'd say every 15 minutes sounds too often. I'm 40+5 and nowhere near peeing that often! I'd suggest getting checked by a doctor in case it is a UTI (painless one). It might not be, but if they can sort it you'll be so much more comfortable.

Alternatively, as you empty your bladder try rocking backwards and forwards on the loo...this enables more pee to come out, and might delay your need for a return visit.
