Are you supposed to feel movement/kicks at 19 weeks? Ive only felt flutters when I was 16/17 weeks and then they stopped. I haven't felt nothing else Confused Looking at the scans it showed the baby was very active however.

Anyone else experienced the same or just me lol?

It is normal not to feel them every day at that stage as baby is still pretty small and if he or she moves into a different position you may feel far less. If you are worried definitely contact your midwife, at least a quick phone call to set your mind at rest and see what she thinks, but I don't think it means anything before about 24 weeks, after all many people don't feel anything at all til 20 weeks or so...

I didn't feel any kicks at all at this stage thought I might be able to feel some movement but couldn't pinpoint if it was wind or baby. Started to feel kicks at 20 weeks but not very regularly until a few weeks later.

I found it very reassuring that my baby was very active at 20 week scan whilst I couldn't feel a thing, they don't weigh very much at this stage so it's not easy for them to make an impact.

But if you're really worried speak to your midwife.

It depends on where your placenta is lying too, if baby is kicking that your not going to feel it!!! I never felt anything till after 20 weeks as too busy to sit down and really concentrate on it! Trust me, soon you'll be wishing for it not to kick too much as it gives you ribs and lungs a good left footer!!

I didn't feel anything until about 22 weeks, but that was because of the position of the placenta. I agree as well that if the baby changes position that can change/reduce movement temporarily - my baby moved to head down and what I was feeling changed, which made me panic. I'm now 31 weeks and getting kicked all over the place.

Have you got another scan next week? If you are concerned either wait until then or ring the midwife and ask if she can check you over.

I dont feel a lot and am 29 weeks, when I panicked at 26 weeks after not feeling anything for 48 hours they said it was because baby was behind placenta. Had a small bleed yesterday and when consultant felt bump (there was some less dignified stuff as well)she said she couldnt tell which way up the bairn was as my tummy muscles are so tight. I think the poor little beggar is squashed in tight and CANT move Grin
