Preventing abdominal separation

So beyond avoiding sit-ups etc what else can be done to prevent abdominal separation? How do you identify whether it's starting to happen?

I'm 35 weeks and I think I have a bit of an irrational fear of this!

Well, mine just happened. Not even sure when - I suspect towards end of pg1 and it was only identified end of pg2 because I was unaware of it! Physio sorted it out though - only about half a dozen sessions, plus lots of pilates. Pg3 and it separated very early.

I just think there was nothing I could do :(
