URGENT PERIOD QUESTION!!!

OK, will sit and wait for answers...two part period question and apologies if I sound like a numptyShock

Hitting menopause, no period for 6 weeks, just hanging around waiting for it to arrive! Had unprotected sex Blush on Sunday, how on earth do I know if I'm pregnant, when do I test or do I just wait for a period?

"nd question... feel really stupid about this one. if I didn't have a period, does that mean I didn't ovulate therefore no egg, therefore no period? Or, will I get two eggs at once and a horrific period, which happened last time (worst one I'd ever had).

Sorry, should know but it's hard when I've always set my clock by my periods and I feel a bit stumped at it all. Thanks

Test 3 weeks after you had un p sex and a week after that if still no result either way. If you think about it, the normal wait is 2 weeks after OV and the sperm can last for a few days. it can also take just over 2 weeks for the test to show a bfp if it is going to.

Hope you get the result you want

Three weeks?!! That's a long time to wait..Shock Thank you.

I have no advice relevant specifically to the menopause, but some wrt abnormal cycles.

1st, if your cycles are now irregular so you don't know when/if you ovulated then all you can do is give it two weeks from when you had unprotected sex and test/go to your Dr if nothing has happened as by then, if you were fertile when you had sex, an answer would be possible.

2nd, it is possible to ovulate without bleeding and to bleed without ovulating. It is also possible to release two eggs in one month and not notice and for your periods to "save themselves up" for eight or so weeks, especially if you are menopausal.

HTH a bit!

earliest you can test after is 10 - 14 days i think.

You can test earlier, but if it came back negative you would not be 100% sure and would need to retest. Just thinking cost!
