Maternity Bra Fitting in Milton Keynes / Northampton area

Hi all,

Can anyone recommend me a place where they have received good service for a maternity bra fitting? I live in Milton Keynes and work just outside Northampton so these are the easiest places for me to shop.

I have been managing so far with 2 bras which I bought in M&S in Northampton. The young woman who fitted me there was friendly and the bras do feel supportive, but I'm getting very depressed by looking at the resulting shape of my boobs in the mirror!

Is it inevitable that I end up with flattened breasts? Pre-pregnancy I wore only underwired bras which seemed to lift my chest to give a much better shape...

I wore u/w bras throughout pregnancy and BF DD and had no problems. I did research it and found that the reason that some suggest avoiding u/w bras is that if they are incorrectly fitted, you may find it affects milk ducts/supply.

There is a branch of Bravissimo in the Centre MK, how about going there for a fitting now and then either further on in pregnancy or after your baby is born (depending when you're due)? They will make sure that you are in the right size and comfortable and you should be fine.

I'd recommend John Lewis (MK) - their fitters are always good!

I went to Mothercare at Kingston (by Tesco) both times and always had good service. Free parking too, unlike the city centre these days...

Don't worry about the shape of your boobs (or anything else!) for now. Maternity bras are there purely for support but well worth it and underwires are just not worth the discomfort. The boobs get bigger once the milk comes in - and rounder, perkier, firmer (rock solid) and then once you're done feeding (if that's your plan) you can get back into something a little more uplifting Grin
