Can you tell me about your BFP please?

Hi ladies,

I'm one of the TTC-ers, trying to get upgraded to your board and thought I could get some advice from you wise ladies :)
My period is due tomorrow and usually I have 3 days spotting before. This time - absolutely nothing (and as I'm using OPKs I know I didn't ovulate late). But I kep getting BFNs.
Have any of you ever got a BFN with Early Response about 1-2 days before (or even on the day) your period was due and still found out you were pregnant?

No, but I got a blink and you miss faint line with a POAS test - with first morning urine - on a test which needed 20uml to show (this was the day my period was due). The blood taken from me at 8am showed a level of 218, and they were only looking for 50...

I'm with you on complete lack of spotting, but the month I got my BFP I didn't take any early tests (a first for me!). I took a 10ul test on the evening of the day my period was due (after saving up for a few hours at work) and got the faintest line ever seen by man. Pretty sure if I'd taken one early it wouldn't have shown at all. I've taken four since then, all progessively darker :)

I know there were a few people on the thread when I was TTC who got lots of BFNs, even after their periods were due, who went on to get BFPs. Fingers crossed for you!

I took a test the morning my period was due, a Friday, -ve.

Took another on the Sunday evening and it flashed up really quickly. +ve.

Now 19+3 Grin

I got a negative with an Early Response one about three days before my period was due (might even have been two). On the packet it said that three days before it detected up to 75% of pregnancies or something, so I just assumed was negative. Did another internet cheapie test on the day my period was due - though by then was sure it would be negative as had been having cramping pains etc. I was about to chuck it in the bin when I noticed it had a very faint line! I then did another First Response and straight away I got a very clear pink line. Couldn't believe it!

I had four negatives before my positive, it wasn't until I was three days late that it showed as a winner Smile. Good luck!

I got a negative three days before, 2 days before it looked negative but when I checked it an hour later there was the feintist line, 1 day before still a very feint line that only showed up an hour after taking the test, from then on the lines got gradually darker and came up quicker. I was using cheap but sensitive tests from amazon (10ml)

I know the instructions say you are supposed to check the result within a certain timeframe, but my advice for you is, go fish around in the bin and recheck those tests!

Like MummyA I got a negative three days before with a clear blue digital, so sulked for three days until I realised my AF still hadn't arrived and bought myself a £2.50 Tesco one (mainly because I was curious about the Tesco test) and was gobsmacked to find I was pregnant. So like her, i'd advise not to give up straight away!

i was doing the 'early tests' and didnt show up until day period was due, and that was a very faint line only after few days went darker, but before that even 1 or 2 days before due it was totally negative

I got a BFN three days before my period with the digital conception indicator type.

Tried again with first wee of the day the day after my period was due and got a BFP which I nearly dropped in shock!

DH reckons it's the best hangover cure ever Grin

IPOAT day after my period was due, BFN. Put the lack of AF down to a change in contraception. Didn't think anything else of it...

4 weeks later, didn't feel right. Took a test & voila! BFP! Unplanned, 8 weeks, now 24wks pg! :)

Thanks so much ladies - that sounds hopeful!! I'm going to test in a couple of days (ok, I probably will POAS tromorrow - I'm too impatient!)

Last time I was pg, -ve test the day before AF was due, +ve the day it was actually due. And it was the one month where I had no symptoms at all. DD2, for it was her, is now two.

I got a -ve with First Response a couple of days before I was due, then did an internet cheapie when I was 2 days late, also -ve. I hoped it was wrong so used a Clear Blue Digital with the same wee (in a pot) and got a +ve!

Have you tested yet?!

Still no period but another bfn... Moving between hope, desperation and temptation to just give up and adopt! :)
