Im looking for some books on how babies are made for my 5 and 7 year old. Im due in 8 weeks, and would possibly also like some books for them on how a baby is delivered. Any ideas please?x

The 'Oxford First Encyclopaedia' has a double page spread on this and is just the right level for that age, but is not as in depth as a whole book on the subject would be - it is a good starting point for you to talk about the subject with your children though. Hope somebody suggests something closer to what you are looking for, but the encyclopaedia is quite a nice book to have anyway and an introduction to lots of subjects - my 5 year old sometimes asks for a few pages from it instead of/ as her bedtime story! She also likes to look up the pages on being born and look at the 3 pics there of foetal development, and has what is written under each pic memorised Grin

Yep Mummy laid an egg by babette cole. A great child friendly yet informative story on how babies are made and born we use it in our school where I work. Hth

I read Mummy Laid an Egg to my four year old DD recently. Whilst I had no problem with the comedy graphical sex illustrations with her (aside from an initial "WTF?!! Wasn't like that in my day!" reaction!!) you may feel differently Wink
