Anyone in Northumberland/Borders?

I'm due mid-May and am wondering if there are any other mums-to-be in my area. I'm not a group type person as rule but would be happy to meet up with folk for a walk etc...

Hi, I'm not a mum to be but have 2 ds's aged 3
Years and one aged 11 months.

There's a good Breastfeeding drop in on a mon at 1.30 at the Sure Start building in Berwick.
(if you're planning on bfing that is)

If not sure start will have info on baby and toddler groups here..

Yes I'm planning on breastfeeding so that could be handy. But I'm also hoping to find a few friends who have little ones but also other things in common (ie the outdoors, local history, travel, Scrabble etc etc)! I think I'd feel a bit swamped being surrounded by cooing mothers talking solely about nappies and slings, as I've had a tricky pregnancy and I'm not feeling 100% maternal right now...

Does this sound a bit weird? Just worried I have no friends network here at the moment (only recently moved) but aware that I'm not really the coffee-morning type ...

Not weird at all, I'm not really the coffee morning type either and didn't stick to a few of the groups I tried. I stuck to going to the Breastfeeding one and now feel welcome there and just go for a general chat.

I'm not so hot at scrabble although that's probably cause I've only played it once or twice! Am interested in Art and walks on the beach, just doing fun things with the kids too. I recently trained as a Breastfeeding peer supporter so that's given me something to use my brain for!

I'd be up for a chat anytime and it doesn't have to be about nappies or slings
