Hello, just got the results back from the bloodtest for Down's screeningand it says my chances are 1 in 4,400 which is low but this seems quite high to me - Its my first pregnancy so i know I'm being a bit, well, silly but can anyone reassure me a little please?

We had NT and bloods done on Friday we had 1:36000 risk. This is our first and my OH is 31 so this is a really good result for us. The doc said it puts us at the same risk of a 15 year old which my OH will not shut up about!

I had 1 in 45 if that helps - all was well by the way!

Mine was 1 in 1,600, and all was well too. That sounds very low to me - didn't they tell you what those odds were relative to average statistics?

Gabyrale · 05/03/2011 21:49

No, I'm 35 by the way - 36 next week Shock an my DP is 35 as well. It just said in the letter that under these circumstances they would not recommend further testing...

think of it as a 0.022% chance of DS - extremely low

Gabyrale · 06/03/2011 09:46

Ah, okay now that seems a bit more understandable - Thank-you hhg x

Mine was 1:4900 (I'm 39, DH is 41), and they classed this as low risk at my hospital. I even called them to gat more details and further information, and the lady I spoke to was very reassuring about how low risk it was.

Mine didnt have a number it just said low on the letter and MW said they stopped putting it in the low catergory as it made to many people worry.
