This happened to me - my waters went over the course of about 3 days (on and off) in a kind of dribble - it was very clear, just like water really! Felt like I was doing a little wee without being able to control it. I went to hospital and a midwife checked me but couldn't tell if waters had gone or not Confused but when I was in labour about 4 days after the waters had begun to go, the midwife then said there wasn't a drop of water left!

this happened to me also - but they did eventually go (a whoooosh!).
They can do a scan and see how much is left - you have front and hind waters I think, and they do replace themselves, but I'd see your midwife anyway, just to see what she thinks.

The midwife told me that the easiest way to test is to put a pad on and go lie down on your side for a half hour or so. If it's your waters then it'll kind of pool inside you while your lying down, when you sit up you'll feel a little gush as the pooled fluid pours out (sorry, couldn't think of a nice way to phrase it), also amniotic fluid smells faintly of bleach. If it gushes then see the midwife. Also if you're not sure then see the midwife

Mine went in a dribble. You know because it keeps happening. And it doesn't smell like wee. You should go to hosp if you think your waters have broken and there are no other signs of labour, i.e. contractions. That's in case of infection if the baby doesn't make an appearance within a couple of days. A mw at the hosp will determine if it is your waters or not.

mine went with a pop inside followed by a gush. it was slightly pink in colour (no blood).
