I'm only on second pregnancy, religiously did pelvic floor exercises and still practically hold shares in tenas! It's embarrassing but here's hoping it gets better once I've had her!

I had problems with incontinence during DC2 pg that continued after she was born, also needing to go to the toilet 4 times a night saw a phsio and she told me to buy vaginal cones, I used them and this pg I have had very little problems with incontinence. But you can use them while pg but good for getting things in good shape after.

That could have been me starting this thread! 4th preg (due any day now) - it's Tena Lady for me every day, but after my cough/asthma eased so did the, er, incontinence!!

I wasn't very good at the old pelvic floor exercises - such as a drag! This is def my last pregnancy (I hope!) and if the problem continues afterward I shall go down the route of surgery - a friend had it done and it was a miracle cure.

I'm having problems too! I can't hold onto my wee's anymore, if I don't go as soon as I feel the edge to go, they just come out anyway!!! It's very uncomfortable holding onto it, almost feels like sistitus but not and when I do go the smallest amount comes out!!
And I suffered a prolapse at the beginning of my pregnancy too. This is my third baby and I'm 17 weeks.
I'm worried it's going to get worse as I'm doing my pelvic floors and they don't seem to be doing anything!!

What are those vaginal cones? Has anyone been to the doctor about this?

snotdroolanddirtybums · 05/03/2011 14:18

i looked up those vaginal cones, are they just like doing pelvic floor exercises only with something to 'hold'?

i was thinking about going to doc for advice but they'll prob just suggest more pelvic floor execises.

im waking in the night too needing to wee and i have to get up really slowly to stop me going before i get to the loo! i really hope it does stop after pregnancy but still the thought of this happening for the next 20ish weeks?! and it will probably only get worse with the baby gaining weight

They are much more effective than pelvic floors you put them in largest cone first for 10 minutes and hold it in there are instructions, for a week then add a small weight and do that for a week and keep going you dont put them in like a tampon which you push quite far up instead put them in the muscles by the entrance and hold.

It was my gp who referred me to physio, she said alot of women dont do pelvic floors right which is why they are better. After about a month my plvic floor stopped sagging forward and actually stood up straight. [http://www.aquaflex-cones.co.uk/ here they are]] they really are much better and easier than pelvic floors and surgery is not easy to get unless you are willing to pay for it.

here they are oops Blush

Crawling · 05/03/2011 14:52

But you cant use them while pg so can only be used after baby is born Sad

snotdroolanddirtybums · 05/03/2011 16:02

crawling: they sound good, will def have to invest in one once the baby is born.

does anybody know if this is the only reason for incontinence? i had no problems after ds1, 2 and 3 were born only during the last 2-3 months of pregnancy and now its returned at week 20 of this one.
