I am sooooooo exited to find out the flavours of me new little bundle of poop!! This is my third pregnancy and I have two little girls (5&4). But this pregnancy has hit me really hard, and I'm eating totally different things than my girls!
I'm well into fish! The rawer the better! Walked past the market fish monger yesterday and could of quite happily sat and ate all the fish, uncooked!!! So I settled for a cooked mackerel and ate the whole thing in the car on the way home from town!!(and yes I stank!!)
And fruit! My house looks like the tropics! I ate a whole bag of sweet juicy oranges in one day!
So fruit and fish!! Very different!
Any idea's?
What were your cravings with what flavour baby???

Apple juice and chocolate milk, also ice lollies although think this was a thirst/ feeling hot thing - girl

My friend orange juice and chocolate milk - girl

Wouldn't call them cravings as such - just a preference for something I liked anyway.

HLSalter · 05/03/2011 09:02

I have craved orange juice so much which is apparently a tell tale sign that the baby is a girl. We found out on Thursday that we are having a little boy. I also craved cold big macs for a couple of weeks Grin

cece · 05/03/2011 09:05

DD - rice pudding
DS1 - ice cubes
DS2 - orange juice

Crawling · 05/03/2011 09:40

DS undercooked meat
DD fruit
DC3 cheese and cereal

shelleylou · 05/03/2011 09:42

orrange and passion fruit J20 = boy

wolfcubEm83 · 05/03/2011 11:27

Pickled onions, salt and vinegar crisps, salted peanuts, pork scratchings Grin = girl

Coppernoddle · 05/03/2011 12:49

There really funny!!! HLSalter, cold big macs!! Brilliant!!!
I don't really understand the slang of dd or ds? Pregnancy brain Ive not worked it out yet!
Am kind of swaying towards a boy but don't want to get my hopes up as we'd love a boy already having two girlies!
My sister craved oranges when she was having her boy and a lot of people I've spoken to that were having boys craved fish too, but I think my mind is running away with me and I might be getting over exited about the wrong sex!! To be honest, as long as it's healthy, I'm not fussed, and going into the shops the girly clothes look soo pretty, think I'm just used to buying for girls!
Oh the suspense is killing me!!!

How many weeks are you coppernoddle?

I'm currently in the grip of ms with fourth pregnancy so just forcing something down is flavour of the day right now rather than any cravings but...

DD - none
DS1 - none!
DS2 - For about a week I was downing a pint of cold, cold milk - I NEVER drink milk.

(by the way in the abbreviations, the first 'd' nearly always means 'Dear' or 'Darling' (unless they're being awful in which case it might be 'DAMN!' or 'Dingbat' Grin). The second 'd' is daughter, 's' is son, 'h' is husband, 'p' is partner' - I'm sure you can work out any others you come across knowing it indicates a close personal relationship/relation)

Coppernoddle · 05/03/2011 13:17

Brilliant mandahugnkiss! My sisters call Amanda and has an email address amandahugandkiss!!! Funny!!
Now I understand!
I'm 17 weeks, my 20 week scan is on the 24th march, but my friend had hers and they couldn't see! :(
If that's the case will have to pay for a 3d scan as there's no way I could wait for the surprise!!

Coppernoodle I was so worried that the baby would be in awkward position and we wouldn't be able to find out so I drank a bottle of coke beforehand as I know it makes him wriggle. So he was wide awake for our scan.

lucamom · 05/03/2011 13:47

I'm pregnant with 3rd and as with previous 2 (both boys) I haven't necessarily had cravings, but have found I could only eat certain foods in the early weeks to deal with the sickness:

DS1 - scampi flavour fries/frazzles & apples
DS2 - McDonalds Hash browns & satsumas
DC3 (only 7 weeks but prob a boy too!) - hula hoops and apples

A theme emerging here for salty/savoury/potatoey foods and fresh fruit! Later in the pregnancies I couldn't get enough cold milk but that was due to the heartburn

Coppernoddle · 05/03/2011 15:17

So certain foods really don't suggest one or the other!! My luck, we'd have another girl!!
HLSalter, good idead! Never really drink fizzy drinks and don't really through pregnancy so will give it a go!
At the beginning of my pregnancies all I could keep down and dreamt about too was chip butties! And am loving olives for the saltiness!

But saying all that, by the sounds of things it could still be either!

Oooohhh, the frustration!!

Can you get scans at 18 weeks? Would it show?

Well I'm having a girl and my craving is Loveheart sweets, you know the ones with the sweet/romantic messages on, I eat 4 packs a day Blush

I'd always thought it was sweet cravings for a girl and savoury for a boy.

HLSalter · 05/03/2011 19:27

Coppernoodle I think the gender of the baby is visible at 16 weeks. (Don't hold me to that though).

deemented · 05/03/2011 19:36

Gender is visable at 14 weeks Smile

So, cravings..

When pregnant with DS1&2 i craved the smell of muddy spuds. Used to walk round with a freshly dug potato in a paper bag and take big deep sniffs of it.

With DD i craved cold tinned tomatoes dipped in hot chip shop gravy. But it had to be chippy gravy.

With DS3 it wasn't a craving as such - i had an overwhelming desire to lick metallic lime green cars. Thery looked so juicy and my mouth used to water so much when seeing one.

Still early days with this one, but i'm really wanting iceberg lettuce with everything i'm eating.

Coppernoddle · 06/03/2011 09:55

LOL!!! Demented!! They are some bizarre cravings!! I guess sainsbury's car park was good for you then!!!! LOL!!

Jumpingforjuly, I think they say that as the amniotic fluid surrounding a girl tends to be sweeter than a boy, hence you crave sweeter things!

But even still, people who are convinced there having one due to what they've been eating always seem to have the other!!
Think I'm going to have to wait patiently!! 2 1/2 weeks to wait!! It's going to kill me!!
