Dear Mumsnet Parents, YOUR BABY NEEDS YOU!

The NHS trains hundreds of student Midwives every year. Due to the funding changes within the NHS, some trusts are implementing recruitment freezes. This means that students qualifying are not able to get Midwifery roles and are having to find jobs in other industries. This is a complete waste of NHS money and up to 3 years of dedicated training.

Please help us to put pressure on the government to secure funding for Newly Qualified Midwifery posts. This is a really important cause. The lack of Midwives is a real and dangerous issue.

Signed and will send to friends and family to do so. A student midwife delivered my baby and she was blooming fantastic! All my midwives at hospital were the sweetest, nicest people. I get emotional just thinking about it!

I saw a student midwife yesterday & was amazed that she doesn't have a job lined up for when she graduates. Ridiculous.

Paternal, we would really like to get a number 10 petition going but if you try and set a new one up it says that they have moved to direct gov. When we go to direct gov it says that you can't create online petitions on there yet. Please let us know if you can see to set these up.
