For a friend.

She is in early pregnancy and the sickness has recently kicked in. Not sure how bad it is yet but I know she is struggling with work travel and during day, etc.

I can't remember what, if anything, worked for me.

So, what are your bests hints and tips for here, for combatting it?

I did read on here somewhere about some pregnapops or something - are they sickness related?

Thank you in advance.

The only thing I found that helped was eating! And I only really didn't feel sick while I was actually eating!

When pg with ds1 and was still working I kept a packet of ginger biscuits in my desk and I nibbled on them the whole day!

I'm afraid that while pg with ds2 and ds3 the sickness got progressively worse and I couldn't do anything about it - just suffered. Bleurgh - I'm glad those days were gone, how did I ever get through it?!?!?

drink ginger tea
suck boiled sweets
eat something!- even though it makes you feel like you are going to vom the whole time it does make you feel better eventually

fizzy drinks

Sip Ginger Ale, it must be ginger Ale and not beer! (the latter tastes yuk!)
Hope your new house is ok by the way!

You could try using those wristbands for travel sickness - they do help with morning sickness too

Thanks everyone. Going to print this out for her when i see her next.

I remember having sickness all day every day from 6 weeks to about 14 weeks. Physically sick too - yuk. I honestly can't remember anything working. Although I didn't have sickness when flying (went on long haul holiday at 9 weeks or so), and eating little and often helped a small amount.

Just wondered if any of you have miracle cures!
