Muscle spasm in tummy

I am 11 weeks pg so too early to feel movements, but when I sat on the sofa this week, it felt like I had been kicked in the tummy (from inside) by a big baby. It reminded me of a big kick at about 30 weeks in previous pregnancies.

Anyone else had this and know what it is? Have had it a couple of times since, and I am nervous that my tummy muscles are separating or something?

I have had this from about 12 weeks, very strange feeling. It happened in the cinema the other day and I let out a little yelp (very embarrassing Blush).
No idea why its happening or when it will. This is my 4th DC and I don't remember it happing with the others, I am 18 weeks and getting plenty of normal movement and my 12 week was fine so I have no idea. Confused
Sorry haven't been much help, but at least you know your not on your own.

That's great to know that someone else has had it pink clouds - my dh got a surprise when I yelled too Blush. Would have sworn it was a baby kick if I had been further along.

YES! I keep getting this too - it's always when I'm twisting backwards (like, when I'm reaching for something on bed-side cabinet, for example)

It feels as though someone is poking me. The first time I accused asked my DH if he'd prodded me, lol. The second time I jumped so much I actually went to 'brush off' the persons hand who had poked me!!

I'm trying not to move in that way now cos it freaks me out slightly but I keep forgetting and doing it anyway. Maybe I'll mention it to the midwife next time I'm there...

Maybe it's a strange third or fourth pregnancy symptom that they just don't tell you about. Glad it's not just me though. Always like safety in numbers.
