Raspberry leaf capsuals, EPO and clarysage massages - when to start?

If anyone thinks this stuff is hocus pocus then the only thing I can say is I did none of it wih DS1 and he was induced 15 days overdue.

I did it all with DS2 and DD and they both came on time so I'm sticking with it Grin

I've got 500mg raspberryleaf tablets and epo capsua, oil is on its way.

Can anyone tell me when to start and quantities, have completely forgotten,

am 30 weeks now

thank you!

If memory serves me right, the recommended dosage for raspberry leaf tables are two 300mg or 400mg tablets three times a day from 32 weeks. Seeing as yours are quite a big stronger, I probably won't start taking them until 36 weeks. Your tablet package should tell you how many you should take.

1-3 drops of clary sage diluted in your bath from 37 weeks. You could put in a drop of lavender too.

As for evening primrose oil, I definitely wouldn't until 39/40 weeks at least.

Best of luck!

I forgot to mention, acupuncture (&acupressure) has been successful fro me in the past too. Always worth a try! :)

TotorosOcarina - I hope you don't mind me temporarily jumping in on your thread, you sound very experienced and just the person I need at the moment!

(Or, anyone come who has along to help TotorosOcarina, if you could spare a few mins to advise me I would appreciate it!)

I am 39 weeks tomorrow and need to get this baby out vaginally (VBaC) before they do a C Section between 40-41 weeks! What can you advise I try? Or is it too late now?

My consultant has said that if I go into labour naturally then I can try for a VBaC. I have to go back and see her on Monday at which time she will book me in for a section sometime the following week.

Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

Evian, I've always taken the above and also inserted EPO capsuals up there each night from 38 weeks, its supposed to soften the cervix.

Lots of walking and lots of sex too if you can !

Evian, I've had 2 vbac's, tried the raspberry leaf tea and then with the first did accupuncture day or two before going into labour and with last did reflexology day before going into labour. One of those may be worth a try? Think the reflexology got things moving pretty fast (they say will either work within 24 hours or won't work at all), so maybe start with that?

EvianBaby · 02/03/2011 17:04

Thanks both - will try all suggestions! Much appreciated.

TotorosOcarina - good luck for when the time comes!

Janus - that's really encouraging info. Will phone the reflexologist/acupuncturist I used last time at 9am in the morning! I stopped sessions with her at about 36 weeks last time for no real reason.

I will also go out shopping tomorrow for EPO capsules, RLT tablets (currently drinking the tea but i'm sure the capsules will be stronger). I have some clary sage but our bath is off limits at the moment as it has a crack in it - I don't want to make it worse than getting in at my current size/weight!

Thanks again both

if you get some grapeseed oil you can add a few drops of clary sage and have a bump massage :)

Evian, I read in a yogic book that one must do shoulder stand at due date a few times a day and the baby would come within 24 hours. don't know if this is anecdotal, but will definitely try... this is what it should look like (you can place feet against the wall for support, and bend your legs at knees), www.yogajournal.com/poses/480

Evain, I had dc3 yesterday at 39+5. I swear to god that nipples stimulation did it for me. Started it mon, dekivered tues. Could feel the braxton hicks getting stronger and painful and bingo.
55 min labour! No stitches and Maeve here.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 02/03/2011 20:11

Congratulations irishqueen!

I had my first cup of RLT at 35 weeks.

I had my second at 36 weeks. DD was born that night.
I'm not entirely sure if the RLT was to blame for her early arrival, but next time round I'm leaving it until 39 weeks before going near the stuff Grin
