Am suffereing with hyperemisis (extreme sickness) and yesturday was one of my worst days yet.

At about midnight i was sick again (having kept down my tablet for more than the "magic hour" and was really really violently sick....

it was like every muscle in my body was putting all its force into being sick.

was so sick i made myself have a nosebleed (cant remember last time i had one, probably not in my adult life (im 30) )

when i was sick i was sitting on toilet and using a bowl, (was also having a wee) so when id finally finished vomiting, i wiped, as usual, and there was some bright red blood. Sad
I gave 3 wipes and each got a fair amount of fresh blood wiped, but not loads and loads.

Put a pad on and went to bed.

This morning not a dot of blood on pad Smile, and if i wipe brown blood.... some but not loads, and kess than last night.

should i be really worried?
shoul i call midwife?

Hi, i would call midwife just to put your mind at rest.
Let us know how you get on.

Bogeyface · 02/03/2011 09:14

I would see the midwife or the doctor asap just to be on the safe side. It is probably nothing, as as you are not bleeding anymore or having pain, then you should be ok, but it isnt worth the risk. Also, your mw/GP need to know how bad things are if it is making you bleed like this.

Hope you feel better soon, I only suffered "standard" MS and that was bad enough, so my heart goes out to you x

ok...
have called the number... and left message on answer phone. (they say they will get back but maybe not 'today')

they gave emergancy numbers, but it isnt urgent is it? I mean im not bleeding fresh blood right now

No but you were and that makes it urgent.

Any fresh blood loss during pregnancy should be investigated asap.

I had something a bit similar at 11/12 weeks. For me it was just the shedding of some bruising from implantation but it's definitly worth getting it checked out. My GP arranged for us to have a scan so they could make sure everything was still OK.

nannyl · 02/03/2011 13:31

I had a scan on monday and all was fine then...
not bleeding now but waiting for midwife to call still.

Im sure if it had been measured it wouldnt have been more than a teaspoon full (max), probably a lot less

Have had no pain, & it stopped almost immediatly so im thinking that whilst i agree, it needs checking and ok-ing by a medical person, i shouldnt be worrying too much, I hope!

I had a couple of small bleeds during pregnancy and they asked me to come in so they could monitor the baby just to be sure. Same with quite a few people I know. They said it probably was what they called cervical ersosion which means that the cervix is more prone to bleeding not that it is actually eroding. Hope your sickness eases up and everything is ok.

nannyl · 02/03/2011 18:08

Just spoke to midwife...

she said as it was such a small amount, and for such a short period of time, and that its already stopped and ive had no pain etc, not to worry about it for now Smile

Very reassuring Smile

(Thought id add it on in case anyone else checks this for future reference)
