Hi everyone, today i went for my booking in appt with the midwife. She had the results from my blood tests which were taken last time. The normal pregnancy ones were fine but the midwife last time took extra bloods to do my rheumatoid blood tests. My mcv came back raised slightly at 102. She said that this could be due to my liver, medication, alcoholism, b12 or folic acid. She took extra blood tests inc the ESR one. So i've obviously gone and looked on dr google, it seems that people on long term sulphasalazine can have trouble absorbing folic acid or have a deficiency.

I've been taking the normal 400 dose of folic acid since before i fell pregnant. I'm now worried that this may have not been absorbed at all. I've called the hospital and left them a message about it, the extra blood test should be back by the end of the week. I guess there could be some other reason for this being high but i'm really worried now. Surely if i was supposed to be taking a higher dose someone should have told me?

thanks for reading my rambling worries,
