21 weeks, reasonable size bump, 36F boobs (or norks ).

My bra is getting all sweaty underneath, and I smell horrible

I've tried talc, and spraying with mitchum, but neither is helping! I don't wanna smell manky for another 19 weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any suggestions?

oh you poor thing! there's another talcy thing they use for athlete's foot do you think that would work? could you bear to 'ask your pharmacist?'

flamebat · 19/10/2005 16:33

He thinks I'm odd already, so it wouldn't hurt to make it worse!!! I haven't had my prescription card thingy through yet, so I went and told him that, and asked if he wanted me to undo my coat so he could see my bump instead He at me...

Buy more bras? They're dead cheap in ASDA.

flamebat · 19/10/2005 16:41

I'll be changing every 2 hours or so though

Mmmm. Try washing them w/some bicarb of soda thrown in, perhaps?

Carmenere · 19/10/2005 16:55

If it is an athletes foot type problem a little canestan creme might help

flamebat · 19/10/2005 17:09

More just a sweat problem, than athletes foot

Are they cotton bras???

flamebat · 19/10/2005 17:20

Yup.

Just thought I should add - I am clean, I wash each morning and evening (and several times a day lately with the stinkiness), and I have been wearing a fresh bra every day.

can't think of anything else sorry

mummyhill · 19/10/2005 21:47

Sorry flamebat but it is just a problem that pregnant women with huge norks have to live with. I never found a solution to it durring my pregnancies short of wandering round with bits of flannel in bra at (to soak up sweat and save bra's a little) home and replacing as necessary.

QueenVictoria · 19/10/2005 22:00

Are you wearing underwired bras or not? I found the sweat problem was worse without. So i wore underwiring for most of pg, against the advice i know but since no-one could actually explain to me WHY you shouldnt wear underwired bras when pg i didnt think it was THAT important. Does anyone actually know why?

And spraying with my usual sure deo under me norks helped as well. Hormones do make you sweat more though so you might just have to grin and wash more

flamebat · 19/10/2005 22:04

They weren't so big last time, so it wasn't as much of an issue

I'm in non-wired, but nothing to do with pregnancy causes (well it is... where my ribs and everything have shuffled, the wires are rubbing and making me very sore)... as far as I could tell the wire thing was something to do with damaging milk ducts, but not too sure how.

I think I'll go and buy the next size up so that there is more breathing space, try out the deodorant again, and just wear lots of perfume so that people don't notice my stinkiness so much

I've been wandering round at home with cool flannels under em, and no bra - its very soothing!!!!

hi
when mine are sweaty tend to find the rub aswell so i use sudocrem...works a treat and hey it smells better than sweat..tend to find after a day of sudcrem they lay off sweating as much for a few days and talc is sufficient..lol

eidsvold · 20/10/2005 06:46

rather than talc - what about lanacane or curash - medicated talc - much 'softer' - found that helpful during a horrible hot aussie summer when very pregnant. That sort of talc is also designed to keep you fry.

Hattie05 · 20/10/2005 07:30

Have you been properly measured? Make sure you are wearing the right size, and theres more hope that you will be elevated enough to not sweat so much!
