On Ranitidine, still have heartburn.....

Can I take a swig of gaviscon?

I take 150mg Ranitidine with breakfast and again before I go to bed. So far it's been working and I've had no hearburn. Until today.

Not sure if its something I've eaten today thats brought it on or of I'm becoming immune to the Ranitidine!

I have a hiatus hernia (diagnosed after DD3 - was on ranitidine for most of pg & it did lose effect after a while!)

Thanks to DC4 pushing up on my bits I have daily, agonising heartburn. 9 out of 10 nights I'm sick even after eating a light meal.... I'm on Omeprazole (for the HH not the heartburn!) but my Consultant has also added Gaviscon into the mix half hour after every meal as its much worse now. I cant see why it wouldnt be safe but you can always ring your GP/local pharmacy to check??

Also I was advised to eat MUCH smaller meals but more regularly to limit the Hburn.

Thanks Clouiseg, I'm managing to stave it off with milk at the moment, but I can feel it bubbling away! No doubt to attack just as I lie down to go to sleep!
