I am almost 26 weeks pregnant with my first baby. Due to a high risk pregnancy I have been advised not to exercise during pregnancy so by my own admission I have been very sedate for the past 6 months.

I went shopping for maternity clothes on Friday and was shocked and horrified to see my naked body in the changing room 3 way mirrors. I now have horrendous cellulite on my bum, thighs and even the fronts of my legs. I am only 26 year old and was a size 10/12 before I got pregnant. Have put on a stone and a half so far which is within the healthy range and I have been trying my best to eat healthily and moderately. I haven't ballooned although I have put a bit of weight on 'all over' as well as on my bump and boobs - but I thought this was normal?

I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but does pregnancy make cellulite worse? Has anyone else noticed this happening to them and have I any hope of getting rid of it again after my baby is born?

Feeling a bit fed up.

Yes...dont worry, I am 26 and pregant with my second :) I went from a very slim size 8 to a horrendous 14 stone right up to delivery! Dont let that scare you as everyone is different, I lost all of my weight, obviously you need to exercise 6 weeks after birth. I am 3 months pregnant and have noticed cellulite in the same places as yourself, try not to let it get you down, you are pregnant and it will go away :) there are certain foods you can eat too which will help, like grapefruit :-S Im not sure its wise to eat whilst breastfeeding but thats something you'll need to check with your Midwife.

Hope it all goes well for you.

Thanks Babybumpx - I will get exercising as soon as I can after my c-sec. Plan to get plenty of long walks with the pram in as baby is due in June. Keeping my fingers crossed for a lovely summer.

My pregnancy cellulite disappeared within 24 hours of the birth, after I sweated out all my retained fluid (nice). I was very pleasantly surprised, I had put on a fair bit of weight, but my thighs were much smoother pretty much overnight.
