I'm 27 weeks with forth baby. Have been having tightenings for a few weeks, but have been noticing period type pains for past 24 hrs on and off. Is this just to be expected in a 4th pregnancy? Feeling okish in myself, baby movin well etc. No major concern, just want some reassurance really :) x

Could it be bowels?

spendalittlelivealot · 27/02/2011 23:29

I guess bowels is a possibility as I suffer from ibs, but normally know these pains, plus the periody pains I've been having have been going down my legs like when I have a period. Weird lol

Do they go away if you move around? If yes then prob stretching and minor internal irritation. I spoke to my cons about the same and she recommended moving rather than resting when they happen - seems to do the trick.

Go and see your midwife. Or GP if you can't get the midwife.

Always worth getting things checked out.

Please go to the delivery suite. I had this at 33 weeks and was in labour. The pain going down legs is exactly what I had.

youtalkingtome · 28/02/2011 09:35

Yes I didn't want to worry you, but do get checked out. If it is labour (hopefully unlikely) they might be able to stop it.

ive had this since last week, am 29 weeks now and its mostly at night but it does help moving about and also sitting on my gym ball helps too. if you are concerned then get it checked though!
