im seeing a new consultant on wednesday (usual one on mat leave) and i was going to ask for an induction at around 38 weeks, but am i wasting my time.
the reason (s) i would like to be induced are
baby is huge been scanned and they think its over 10lbs. dd was almost 10lbs and i had a terrible time having her, i dont want a c section cos dd is only 21 months.
i also have no family near by so would be great to be able to arrange flights for my mum, plus my husband works away alot
not the mention i have a thyroid problem and low iron so really tired all the time.
should i ask or will he just laugh at me????
i also have terrible back ache!!!!!

You can always ask. He'll probably refuse, but if baby really is appearing that big he would likely agree to inducing you at 40 weeks rather than waiting until 42. When did you have your last scan? If he says no to induction at least at term, just cry and demand a scan! (Have found with my consultant you get whatever you like if you cry! Grin)

Good luck!

Not a bad idea to ask if that's what you want but I'd stick to the medical reasons rather than the convenience/social ones. Somehow I think they'd be more sympathetic to those.

had scan on friday, id go to 42 weeks as long as i dont end up with a c section. id never cope with a toddler who is demanding at the best of time and a new baby. i suppose ive nothing to lose by asking. im prepared to beg!!!! ha ha .
to be honest im soooooo huge now 31 plus weeks he might feel really sorry for me and agree. ill also go for the "im a nurse so dont fob me off" attitude
fingers crossed i suppose.
