Hey,

We had our first MW visit today at UCLH & scan is booked in for 4 March. (it will be good to see they baby , as so far my OH has had it relatively easy and we were starting to worry if she was pregnant at all! I don't want to jinx her, so I hope the pregnancy continues, as it is)

Thanks to Mumsnet we already had an idea of what to expect, everyone said it would be an anticlimax and you were right, just a load of forms and blood tests, ( even more as we agreed to join a research project they are doing) but hey it's not my blood! :) but it was good that I went with her as I didn't realise there would be so many questions about me. She would never have known some of the answers.

The visit was soooo hasstle free, I was really impressed. We just turned up at reception, got her folder, was called into MW office, was sent to get bloods and out again. So efficient, but didn't feel like we were being hurried at all. Really, really impressed. I don't think hospitals and MW get enough praise, as it seems only negative stories get posted on forums. Soooo well done to the MW's. :)

Anyway I'll let you know how the scan goes.

that's good, nice to hear positive posts. btw you tend to have to wait around a lot longer for the scans though cos they are a really busy hospital. but i have had 2 babies there and overall really happy with them, so i hope your wife finds them good for the rest of pregnancy and birth, and good luck

I found UCLH to be great overall too. And at my 12 week scan the blood results were back at the same time as the nuchal results, about 20 mins after the scan, so we got our combined result that day. I was impressed!

Now I'm 25 weeks, and I get to meet the team of midwives who will deliver my baby (assuming I get that kind of birth).

The EPU were also amazing during my MC last year.
