Return of morning sickness at 38 weeks. Can I still take the anti-sickness meds?

I was on cyclazine from weeks 8 to 16 as I felt SO sick 24hrs a day, couldn't function. The last couple of days I've been feeling pretty crappy again, although not a patch on how I was when I had to start taking the cyclazine.

Has anyone been prescribed anti-nausea meds this late in pregnancy? I still have some left. If I start feeling horrendous again I'll be very tempted to take them, although will of course check with my GP first, unless of course it's a massive no-no that everyone but me know about?

Hi,

I've had HG with all of my PG's and have been on anti-emetics all the way through with each (avomine with DS1 and cyclizine with DS2). On week 24 of PG3 now and still on cyclizine. Obstetrician is not taking me off for duration of this pg because still vomiting 2-3 times per day. I'm sure GP will give you the thumbs up rather than you getting dehydrated.

Can't help but I'm still in the grimmo first trimester nausea stage. Did it really help?

SarahScot · 25/02/2011 16:39

Thanks grumblinalong

charitygirl, they helped enormously. Went from not being able to do anything but lie on the sofa and crawl to the bathroom to being able to go to work, albeit still feeling a bit crap, but human!

Maybe things are about to kick off?

Thank you - I may have to start pestering the doc.

And yy, I'm sure I've heard that a return of nausea at the end means labour is imminent (another sign is a drop in weight of a couple of pounds if you're tracking that). So make sure bag is standing ready!

That would be BRILLIANT if it was the start of early labour. This is TMI, but have had stomach pains and loose bowels over the last couple of days as well.
DS was 2 wks overdue so am kind of expecting the same this time. Maybe I should pack my hospital bag just in case.
