My OH has persuaded me at the grand old age of 40 to TTC for a second. Our DD is two and while my pregnancy was mostly okay - no complications apart from my emergency CS - I did feel sick most of the time.
I went off everything and had constant indigestion - can I expect more of the same IF I get pregnant again

There's no way of telling really. My three pregnancies have been very similar - no sickness but extremely tired - but I know other people who have had very different pregnancies. That doesn't help you decide really does it?

My first pregnancy was horrendous- 9 months of puking, ligament pain, food aversions etc and I was dreading getting pregnant again but this time around has been fine, I've only puked a couple of times. I have had a fair bit of heartburn towards the end though.

I'm 40 and 26wks pg with my second, my DS (my first) is now 13yo.

With my DS I had mild nausea. With this little bubba I had evening nausea from about 4-5pm onwards. It did go on for about 4 months, I have to admit, and it wasn't pleasant but I survived Smile.

Heartburn is more of an issue with this pregnancy too for some reason, so much so that my midwife has had my doctor give me Gaviscon Advance (pharmacy only) on prescription. It's saving me a fortune, as scripts are free, which is a God send.

Weighing it all up though, I wouldn't have it any other way Wink

I pray that you are successful Leaving it's a real joy I must say to have the chance to be pregnant at a later stage of life.

LibraPoppyGirl - I was drinking Gaviscon Advance from about 7 months pg. Heartburn is more a physical thing, it was the nausea that bothered me, sparkling water helped tho. x
