I have had enough now freaking roadworks outside the house have been going on since last week. I would not mind normally but everytime I try to get some sleep something happens either the neighbour starts banging outside in his small garden(its been going on for 2 months now) or another neighbour leaves their dog out ALL day to bark (I have complained to the council about this and so have other neighbours). Now I have a week (and my only week until I give birth) where my DS whos 5yrs old is with his nanna. So I looked forward to getting some sleep as like most you ladies I cant sleep through the night and after about 3 months of this I was getting really tired! So my mum suggested she has my DS (she lives 2 hours away). And what happens roadworks start on the day my son goes to his nannas Angry now it would not be that bad but they ALWAYS do the noisey stuff at 8am then seem to go off at about 2-3pm and leave. (This happens at weekends as well so no break). I understand that the work needs doing im not daft but really everyday at that time and noise it shakes the house. I think im just really pissed of at the fact I finaly get a week to relax and I cant! I have to also go up a hill to my car now which would be ok if I were not pregnant with the top of my thighs hurting, backache, and pubic bone pain! Walking up that steep hill is no joke! There is no where else to park as the idiots have taken up all of the road. And my midwife told me to get some rest as I had been having problems. well Im trying but no one will let me!!! Anyone else with sleep depravation? Turns me into a monster!!!

I live on a steep hill and you may not realise it now, but it really helps keep you fit during pregnancy. Far cheaper then the gym!

I know it's annoying that they are doing the road works, but 8am isn't an unreasonable time to start, but I'm sure you know that already.

This is very true! I agree about the time but when you get no sleep nost of the night becasue your in pain then it does seem a bit pants!! Going up the hill will keep me fit your right I walk my dog on a flat surface as at this stage I feel very unwell hence seeing the midwife and consultant. The last preg I had a disslocated knee as well so that was hard this one seems harder in a different way and the knee is playing up at this preg too!! Worried it might just pop out again.... Hmm

Gosh a dislocated knee sounds painful. Hopefully walking will help keep your muscles/ligaments strong and hopefully it won't happen again.

How many more weeks do you have?

belgo · 25/02/2011 09:55

and have you got a physio therapy referral? That might help, if your consultant would refer you. Early physiotherapy can be a big help in preventing future problems. It's dd1's seventh birthday tomorrow and I think I will buy her one new playmobil set, something small

Hello belgo Yep the disslocated knee at last preg was not fun. It felt horrible I went for physio and I was gaining weight as the knee was trying to heal it was fun!! Its never been the same and have had a few problems in this preg and the knee still plays up even though its 5yrs on! Dont know why? Im ok just need to be sensible when walking and take my time dont rush. Thanks for the advice.

A 7yr old daughter Im not sure what I would get for her does she not like barbie or anything I had cars and barbies and all sorts when I was little oh and a girlsworld. I only have a boy and hes all dinosaurs and cars. Well off to get ready and negotiate that hill Wink and 2 hr drive! Yey!!
