Hi everyone, hope you are all well. Just looking for a it of advice. I am 16/40 and keep getting painful headaches - which last for ages. I even wake up with a headache most mornings. Sure this is hormonal as I always used to get headaches around time of period. Any tips? Thank you x

I had this too, and it was definitely hormonal in my case, worse than headaches but not quite a migraine. Do mention it to your MW if you are worried, keep your fluids up, and any other symptoms go get yourself checked over at the maternity unit. Mine finally disappeared by 20 weeks thanks goodness.

Also Doctor may prescribe suitable pain killers that are more effective than paracetamol.

Hope you're not feeling too awful and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Smile

I had this too for 10 weeks of pregnancy in both pregnancies. Like you I used to get them at period time. For me; an effective cure was Paracetamol and caffeine ie Paracetamol plus taken as soon as I noticed the headache. If I didn't have those in then a strong filter coffee and normal Paracetamol. Caffeine essential - doesn't take you over your pregnancy limit. I know different things work for different people but may be worth a try?

I was getting some insane headaches at one point till I cut the cheese back out of my diet. I never got them before and I don't know whether it is coincidence that they stopped when cheese stopped.

It could be hormonal or a reaction to a food that didnt previously affect you.

My MW today suggested an eye test. I had a bad headache last week. Apparently these are free like dental care.
