Went to the loo earlier and when I wiped (sorry) there was a big lump of jelly stuff which I'm assuming was part of my cervical plug.

I'm only 35+5, has anyone experienced losing any this early and if so how long was it before you went into labour?

This is DC2, but I went over and was induced with DS - had no niggles or signs of labour at all so this is all new territory and I find that I'm terrified!

lost my plug at 32 weeks in last pregnancy, no other signs and gave birth via cs at 38 weeks

I started losing mine at 39 weeks but went 9 days over, so it doesn't necessarily mean things are going to happen imminently. I'd make sure your bag was packed though! Good luck.

I'd also add that you should mention it to your midwife next time you have an appointment. And if you have water leaking obviously tell them immediately.

I had a feeling this would be an April lady Smile

I've only ever lost mine in established labour, but my best friend lost hers 3 weeks before her ds2 was born.

Thanks everyone :)

So it could be something or nothing. I'm not due to see my midwife for ages, may try and track her down by phone tomorrow.

My bag is mostly packed, but I think we will definitely get on with final jobs and shopping this weekend!

I noticed a small amount of jelly in the morning at 35+3 weeks. My waters broke that evening and I went into labour shortly after. I don't think it's a worry unless your waters break so please don't panic!.

I would highly recommend packing a hospital bag though just in case. I was completely unprepared and panicked, taking some posh new pyjamas, facepowder and a book Confused

Good luck!!

I lost mine with DD1 on the Saturday and gave birth at 38 wks on the the Monday. Def sounds like it could be something or nothing! I stupidly didn't take any notice of mine and wasn't the slightest bit ready, thinking I'd sort the washing / ironing etc on Monday...!

please don't panic, losing your mucous plug is absolutely no indication that you will go into labour, it can happen at any time and renews itself.
However, if you start to get regular tightenings or your membranes rupture, act on it.
