Hi all,

I'm 9/2wks and I know some say cravings are all in the head, but I'm wondering what everyone else is hankering for?

For me, it's protein (specifically beef, cooked any way!) Previously, I was fussy and ate nearly no meat whatsoever but no I can't get enough!

Briefly I also had a thing for sausage rolls but the morning sickness soon sorted that one... (lol sorry for tmi!)

I craved lemons... lots of lemons... had at least 4-5 per day during the 1st trimester Grin.

Now on my 3rd trimester and crave mostly fruit and occasionally chocolate...

captainbarnacle · 24/02/2011 19:31

Meat meat meat - have had red meat 3 times this week already...

lolajane2009 · 24/02/2011 19:33

I like sushi from boots at the moment if I am energetic enough to leave the house and if not peanut butter sandwiches or corned beef sandwiches.

Also craving sour drinks and I had odd craving for a slushie yesterday and had to have one.

daimbardiva · 24/02/2011 23:06

Fish fingers, rice pudding...and McDonalds (which is really weird as I haven't eaten one fro about 15 years!!!!)

emmah194 · 24/02/2011 23:09

from about 20-23 weeks I craved toasted sandwiches with mozzarella, pesto and sundried tomatoes. When I couldn't find a sandwich shop that sold them one day I ended up in floods of tears.

cece123 · 24/02/2011 23:40

cheddar cheese and ready salted crisps!!!

MrsMooky · 25/02/2011 12:14

Sugar sugar sugar. I've always eaten really healthily - not to watch my weight, I just normally prefer fresh fruit, yoghurts etc to snacking on crisps or chocolate. But I've deveopled a terrible sweet tooth. Ice cream, cakes, chocolate.. its turning into a very expensive as well as unhealthy habit, it's usually specifically Green & Blacks that I want..

coraltoes · 25/02/2011 17:17

mine was beef too in the early weeks...it is probably the body stocking up on iron!

Armi · 25/02/2011 17:28

Jam sandwiches....but they have to be made with particularly cheap and nasty white sliced bread and the jam has to be strawberry or blackcurrant.

rrreow · 25/02/2011 17:58

Early on (1st trimester) I craved salty foods, especially clear soup. Also lots of milk (which I usually can't stand, at least not drinking it straight).

Now (end of 2nd/beginning of 3rd trimester) I've been craving beer. Very strange.

Snakeears · 26/02/2011 09:00

Cucumber and steamed brocoli - going through a cucmber every other day and about the same on the brocoli - wierd!

WhiteTrash · 26/02/2011 09:04

Sponges. But only from 26 + weeks. I like the rub them on my face, in my hands, I like to smell them and chew them. I find my craving for sponges excellerates (sp) when Im feeling down (say, after a stressful day) or if I am run down.

Icanonlytry · 26/02/2011 10:22

I am 28 weeks and have a very intense craving for milk and milk shakes. Cannot get enough of them, going through at least 2.5-3 pints a day.
Didn't really have any cravings earlier on because my sickness was so bad until 22 weeks although I did make a few late night trips to McDonalds to get a large diet coke, even though we had some in the fridge, it had to be from there with ice and a straw Blush

caramelcoffeelover · 26/02/2011 10:32

Anything savoury for me. Just food really, not fussy. In my last pregnancy I couldn't get enough of chocolate but hate it this time. Blimey, sponges? I've heard or chalk and petrol cravings and am glad I don't fancy anything like that. My dh thinks pregnant women are weird enough without me chewing on a sponge or drinking petrol!

theonlyhb2 · 26/02/2011 12:33

i couldnt get enough beef in the beginning, when I could stop being sick I wanted a burger from the dodgy place in town.

I have ordered a box of cheeseburger quarterback crisps, cant wait for them to arrive.

Junk food is mine - if I ate this bad normally I would be ill, but when I eat fruit and veg I am actually ill.

Coppernoddle · 26/02/2011 16:51

Fish!!! In the early stages mine was junk food too! That was the only thing that would stay down! Would even dream on a regular basis about chippy tea!!! And I usually am a very healthy person!
Now, (16 weeks) it's fish, smoked salmon, cockles, prawns, anchovies, herring! Cannot get enough of it!!! Sat and stared at the fish counter today thinking, I could just pick up one of those fish and take a bite out of it! So I bought one!!, :)

doodledee · 26/02/2011 17:54

Currently craving macdonalds burgers although not actually succumbed yet - i don't do mcdonalds, been years since i was last in there - wierd!

MrsVidic · 26/02/2011 19:20

Last time I needed blt's and ice. I had a girl. This time I'm craving toast and humous, but I don't know if it's cause I ditch the diet in preg so I know I better enjoy these vices while I can!
