Hi... Just looking for sympathy and possibly a miracle cure?? Baby no.3, 10 days over, had 2 sweeps absolutely NO SIGN of the baby!Tried spicy food, sex, nipple stim, lots of walking. DS1 10 days late, DS2 4 days early, dates def right. Induction booked for monday which i would prefer to avoid. As of yesterday cervix soft but still quite thick, mw could only get a fingertip in and still quite posterior although she pulled it forward a bit. Another sweep tomo. HELP!!

Hey FDT

Your gorgeous little baba will be here soon and all this waiting about will be over (you probably want to punch the next person that says that lol)

Have you tried the hot baths, what about a nice long hot soak in the bath and a large glass of cold wine ! You are well due one at this stage and even if it doesnt get things moving it may relax you for a wee while.

Hope everything goes quickly and smoothly for you

x

Have tried the hot bath....will have another later with the wine too! Ta.x

as you are already walking, shagging and nipple tweaking (not necessarily at the same time!)

i have only to say that you can refuse an induction if you wish, and google the NICE guidelins on induction for guidance.

good luck :)

mummysweeangel · 24/02/2011 13:53

Actually LOL'ed at Edgars post regarding the walking, shagging etc-

:) :)

FDTLuckyMumma · 24/02/2011 14:15

Lol. Thanks Edgar... dont want to refuse induction, def feel like her time is up... would just rather labour at home than in public until have no choice. Mainly just being impatient and grouchy and want to get the inevitable birth bit over and done with so can enjoy the latest (and final!) addition to our family.

I'm 40+6 and I'm opting for expectant monitoring rather than a sweep/induction (bad experience with sweep last time). I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems that only around 3% of women go over 42 weeks anyway so you might be lucky and go into labour before Monday!

Is there no chance of getting a private room that you can labour in?

Good luck, I hope your baby decides to make a move before Monday.

FDTLuckyMumma · 24/02/2011 15:42

Sweeps not been too bad, and 'better' each time so maybe i'm getting ready.. Thanks for 3% statistic - makes me feel a bit more positive about going into labour myself (prob at 11.59 on sun night :-))When have u been recc induction? 42 wks?

I think my local hospital policy is 40+12 but my MW has been very supportive in telling me what my options are and what the risks are. Too bad she's leaving and next week I'll have to see the dragon that gave me a very rough and painful sweep last time. I'm ready to stick to my guns though!

I tried this yesterday, it's not working for me but it was delicious!

FDTLuckyMumma · 24/02/2011 18:53

Looks yummy will give it a try tomo. Says might take 48 hrs so u might get ur eggplant baby yet!

Good luck FDT. How has your pregnancy been so far? I am due with my 3rd in 6 days and was convinced dates were wrong (original midwife date was 12th Feb). The thought of going even a day over fills me with so much dread! I have been having really bad pains (BH and fixing pains) for over 6 weeks now and have been convinced labour starting more than several times (don't think I'm being soft - had no pain relief with #2 so pretty sure I am not being OTT). My every sympathy goes out to you and hope baby arrives really soon for you. If you do find a miracle cure though - pop it on here! I have been half tempted to get a knitting needle to try and break my waters!!! Ha Ha

StrangewaysHereICome · 25/02/2011 21:13

Hello there, I am expecting number 3 and am due on Sunday. Like you Hails I am dreading going even a day over! I have had so many false alarms, BH's getting painful and regular and then stopping. My first was on her due date and my second 10 days ealry so I assumed I would have had this one by now!!

FDT I feel for you I really do! I hope things get going before Monday so you can labour at home.

I have been offered a sweep once past my due date, but I really don't want one, I am a whoopsy with beign poked about with up there Blush so might try some other less invasive measures first.

Come on babies!

hails35 · 26/02/2011 12:26

Strangeways - so glad it's not just me! I have felt like such a wimp as nobody seems to understand just how painful these pains (BH??) have been!! Keep us informed on your progress everyone! And here's hoping everyone has a speedy delivery to make up for the amount of time we have already been suffering!!!

FDTLuckyMumma · 26/02/2011 14:01

Hi all. Well its now sat aft and still.... NOTHING!! Had 3 sweeps and tried all the 'natural' methods (not castor oil tho...devils work ;-))and not a sausage. Have pretty much resigned myself to induction.
Re sweeps & pain...I had one at 39 wks as they were trying to induce due to unstable lie and it was vvv painful as cervix not in the least bit ready but 3 this week not too bad at all....deep breaths through them... and believe me when I say I am a right wuss with pain.
DS1 a bit poorly and needs his mum at the mo so maybe its for the best!

Nothing here either :( Don't these babies know how inconvenient they are being?!

StrangewaysHereICome · 27/02/2011 11:16

Due today and nothing here either - patience is not my strong point!!

FDTLuckyMumma · 27/02/2011 13:11

EauRouge · 27/02/2011 15:09

There's still time! I went into labour not long after I last posted but sod all has happened so far. Latent phase went on for 30-odd hours with DD, looks like this one is going the same way Hmm

FDTLuckyMumma · 27/02/2011 15:17

That's shitty- I was the same with my boys and you're so damn tired even before the hard bit comes eh. Hope u get moving soon x
