Im 11+3 weeks pregnant with my 1st baby

im starting to show and if i lay in a certain position on my tummy i can feel where baby is, ie the whole uterus.

I sort of can feel it if lieing on it...

anway last night as i was going to bed i was lieing on it and really concentrating on it. I swear I felt a little something... like, i dont know something very gentle giving the tiniest push against it.

If i hadnt been concentrating on it at that moment i would never have noticed it, but i was and i did.

could i really have felt baby at 11+2?

I'm also pregnant with 1st and used to swear I felt something moving, but was never sure. Then one day I really did, and I think I was about 17 weeks at the time, which is considered early, but everyone is differnt. They say with first baby's you don't feel them move til later around 20ish weeks, but mine at 17 weeks felt like a very gentle tapping, and just got stronger fronm there. I would say for you at 11 weeks, it might be early, you might be just feeling things shifting around. They are super tiny at 11-12 weeks and any push from their little limbs I'd imagine would be pretty hard to detect...but you never know!

Prinpo · 24/02/2011 12:20

Don't know.

All the literature says no, and the earliest I've felt was 14 weeks with DC3, but you know it's in there and if it feels like movement then go with it. Feeling movement can be a lovely way of feeling close to your baby so it's all good. Just don't be freaked if you don't feel any movement for a few weeks.

nannyl · 24/02/2011 12:23

i thought it was too early, but i dont know, i know i felt something.

will certainly not worry if i dont feel it again for quite some time.

I thought I felt some movements around the same time as you (DC2 so know what it feels like from DC1). The 12-week scan showed a very wriggly baby so I like to think it was.

Then nothing for a few weeks. I'm now 16 weeks and think I'm starting to feel things again.

sancerrre · 24/02/2011 14:13

I thought I felt a little flutter around 12 weeks but everyone said I was imagining it. Was same feeling as the definite baby movements later on though.

nannyl · 24/02/2011 14:21

ooh... maybe i did Smile

I'm only 10 weeks and get all sorts of funny windy movements. If I didn't know better (this is DC2) I'd be suspecting it's the baby. But it's far too early. I found with DS I kept not being sure whether I'd felt movement, and then it was obvious when I really did.

I wouldn't dwell on it if I were you, because the danger is if these feelings stop you're going to be worried for no reason. There's plenty of time to worry about whether you've felt the baby move recently from about 20 weeks onwards! Don't start early!

TwinMummy30 · 24/02/2011 14:34

I did feel movements at 11 weeks, I had a bump on one side but when I touched it it disapeared, but it was TWINS :), maybe that's why?

NotSoPukeyMummy · 24/02/2011 15:06

I know from scans and past fertility testing that my uterus is over to one side, so maybe that's it? Ask your sonographer when you go for your scan.

nannyl · 24/02/2011 15:50

oh twin mummy..... twins HAS been suggested lots, by drs and midwives...
(im trying to ignore it until scan shows what it shoes)
(i have extream sickness, and at have had a bumo since about 10 weeks, its my 1st and im not stick thin)

wasnt going to mention the twins part on here.

The first thing you feel isn't usually the feeling of sth pushing you, more like there is a little fish inside you blowing little bubbles and you can feel the bubbles going "plop" and popping inside.

But you never know, it could be!

I am only 7 weeks and I have had a couple of bubble popping feelings which I am sure must be totally psychosomatic!

Rozeeglow · 24/02/2011 16:24

I'm also sure I've started feeling bubba. I'm coming up for 16 weeks and it did feel like being pushed back when I gently pressed my tummy. I hope it is :)

TwinMummy30 · 24/02/2011 16:31

I had my bump visible around 10 weeks as well and i wasn't skinny at that time. i didn't have any symptoms of preg at all. i took my test 5 days before my period was due and it was BFP. It's not as hard with twins as everyone is saying, once you got them into a routine trust me is ok. i didn't have anyone to help, my DH was at work 9-6.30 and I was on my own, my family lives abroad. good luck to you and let us know after the scan :)

nannyl · 24/02/2011 16:38

ok,will let you know Smile (scan monday)

while i will be over the moon to have 1 healthy baby, having nannied for 10 years having twins doesnt scare me... I know, if it is i'll cope and be fine.
What will be will be....

around 18 weeks

TinyDiamond · 24/02/2011 21:34

I was 11+4 when I felt it like a little tiny fish blowing a bubble I was sitting down very still and it only happened once and then didn't feel it again until 14 weeks...

Are you quite slim?? I am and my best friend also. We were talking today and she said she could feel her little one from 11-12 weeks too.

So I believe you! Nobody believes me either don't worry. The only time I can feel it now is first thing in the morning when I wake up and am lying still, now it is much more like flutters and I am 15+1

nannyl · 24/02/2011 21:58

cool Smile

im not really thin, but not hugely fat either, a typical size 12...

I havent felt it since (yesturday) and im sure when i feel more movements and find they feel the same, i will be able to say more for sure that i felt baby move for the 1st time, last night Smile

TinyDiamond glad you said the thing about slimmer people feeling more. Someone told me that but I wasn't sure.

suwoo · 24/02/2011 22:21

I felt my two subsequent babies move at that gestation, but it was more bubbles/butterflies than a 'push' as you describe. They were both low down and right over on my left side. I felt my first baby move at 17 weeks.

Fairybelle · 24/02/2011 22:27

I had tiny popping bubbles early too! If i remember rightly it was about 9-10 weeks, and i was a right skinny minnie, definitely felt it earlier with baby no.1, I didn't think anyone would believe me, but the same tiny popping bubbles turned into bigger and bigger ones!! Have just had baby no. 5(!) and didn't feel much with him until I was about 16 weeks!

mummysleepy · 24/02/2011 22:38

I definitely felt this one at 12 weeks. This is my 3rd and previous 2 I didn't feel till about 18 weeks (anterior placenta with second which is why Ididn't feel him earlier i think)
I only felt baby about once a week to start with but I know it was the baby.
Good luck with your scan!

nannyl · 28/02/2011 15:27

Update as promised

Just one wriggly baby! No twims Grin and sigh of relief

OP posts:
flootshoot · 28/02/2011 15:53

Felt both of mine at 11 weeks. I knew it was the baby both times, and it was only confirmed when movements got stronger and more frequent and I knew it was the same thing I'd felt earlier on.

TwinMummy30 · 28/02/2011 15:55

I'm happy for you :) maybe a footballer? Grin if he/she is kicking so much, take care
