TMI Blood when wiping

I am 23 weeks and there was a bit of blood when wiping. This is where there is TMI - I have been a bit sore down there and think that might be the reason - don't think it is from another area. Should I phone my maternity unit. Am a bit worried. Have never had thrush before but thinking it might be thrush.

What colour is the blood? red or brown? How much and how long has it been going on for? Any pains? Any other symptoms? Have you had sex recently ...just repeating what I was asked this morning when I reported exactly the same thing! I am 24 wks!

Red and not much of it. Am not hugely worried and not has sex since I found out I was pregnant. DH is scared after a bleed last pregnancy.

I was told this am that if more than a teaspoon of red blood then to call the consultant (or if you dont have one, the delivery suite). Sounds like it might just be 'one of those things' but take it easy, pref go to bed and monitor. Its really scary isnt it, look after yourself.
MY DH is the same! After hinting he wanted a bit of 'fun,' we did...I bled, and he's been terrified since! Poor guy I think he's damaged for good!

xx

Hahaha men are easily scared off. We were trying for ages so can do without sex for a while.

I phoned the out of hours doctor as think it might be thrush as things don't feel right down there and feel chaffed (warned TMI!!) see what they say was really fresh and not much of it so not too concerned.

If you think the blood is coming from inside fanjo (and not from around the outside of fanjo ie - thrush) then i would contact your antenatal unit. I wouldnt worry if its just a little bit, but for your own sanity..really :)

Another one here - no sex since conception (pg after mc y'see!)

I think its outside fanjo - have had spotting early on in both pregnancies and that was more mucusy. The exciting life of a preggers lady.

Halle how are you this morning?

HalleLouja · 24/02/2011 08:49

Jasmine thanks for asking - the bleeding seems to have stopped but am still sore in the fanjo regions so am going to make an appointment with the doctor. Baby was having a nice kick around earlier so fingers crossed al is ok.

Ah that sounds really positive...apart from your sore bits that is!

HalleLouja · 24/02/2011 20:11

Had to go into the hospital a lot of time waiting around. But all ok apart from high white blood cell count which could be down to suspected thrush. Fingers crossed its all better. am shattered now though.

Glad nothing dodgy found. Nearly the weekend...take it easy x

Anyway for anyone who might be interested I had severe thrush. Nice. Should all be clear now. But at least it explains why my fanjo was not its normal self and obviously more prone to chaffing. The joys of pregnancy as I have never had it before.
