Any Central London parents want to join up for baby resuscitation course?

Hi

I am 2 weeks away from my c-sec and am looking to do training for baby resuscitation. I called up St John's Ambulance and they said they could provide a 3 hour course if I can get 12 people together. This would work out at £39 per person.

The reason I want to do it is because my my first baby stopped breathing unexpectedly. Luckily I was in hospital at the time. Had I been at home, I would not have know what to do. Sadly, she passed away from other complications.

At the moment, nothing has been decided/booked as I want to see if anyone would be up for it. Venue to be decided but happy to have it in my flat.

I did a baby first aid course a few years ago - there are loads of them about that wont mean you have to organise it and find a venue yourself - these are near me but I'm sure there are plenty more if the locations aren't right for you:

Active Birth Centre in Archway which is on March 12th and costs £25 each

Viveka Health Practice in St John's Wood on March 15th and 22nd.

Sh77, I am sorry to hear about your loss! I would be interested in taking a course. Is this topic not covered in an NCT class? I will double check with my provider.

Does your hospital not run baby resuscitation as part of their antenatal course or as a stand-alone evening course? I know that ours does and I'm sure they'd look over the fact this isn't your first baby, given the circumstances!!!

NCT offer first aid courses through my branch (Clapham), but it wasn't covered in antenatal classes.

Thanks everyone. My hospital does not run this course. There is one with the Red Cross tomorrow but I can't change my MW appt. Will check local NCT.
