Hi ladies, sorry if I'm not doing this right newbie on here and 1st time pregnant. I wanted to ask if anyone had any stories about Macclesfield Matty unit as I'd like to go there my other option would be North Staffs. Apologes if I'm in the wrong place. Confused

I had my first at macclesfield and then a home birth with my second with their midwives and will be having my third at macc due to developing strep b so no home birth for me, but I had a very good experience with macclesfield hospital, believe it to be a good general maternity hospital! Think if their run off their feet as with any hospital someone will always be disappointed but that's due to nhs failures and lack of staff I guess but all my friends had at macclesfield too and all had very good experiences!

Hello

I have heard good things about Macc, I have had friends who have given birth there.

I'm ubder North Staffs, I hope everything will be ok there

Hello,

I had my DS at north staffs they were great. I was in 5 days prior (due to slow labour). They were fab I met a few midwives along the way. There was only one I came accross that was not great but hey its like anything some people are not in the right job some people are. I did not see that one for long so it was fine! I have moved and I scared that this hospital will be ok as North staffs made it very easy for me and I worry if this one will be as good! Since I had DS they have a new mat unit as well. Smile

I had all my three at Northstaffs, in the old building new baby will be born in the new build. my sil had a baby in august and she had no complaints. Macc seems a bit far away to me xx

You know what, they both sound pretty good, I would just pick the closest one as that trip in labour is the labour journey you'll ever do!!! :)

Cheers time wise they are about equal to us,I've spoken to Macc and am going for a look round so will see how we get on. Your right though I think it all depends on the midwife when it comes down to it. Fingers crossed we'll be fine.
Thx Smile
