How far gone before preg test positive?

I have two boys already and both were negative preg tests at 3,4 and 5 weeks.
Am now wondering if I am pg again but again testing BFN!
Am I a freak??
Anyone else out there that doesn't show straight away??

I'm at the moment 7 weeks in showing all pg symptoms but no positive. Have done numerous home tests, and had 1 done at GP's surgery and one done at lab. Am sending another to lab on the 1st march and if that doesn't show anything GP is sending me for bloods. even the GP thinks i'm pg but has to wait for + test before she can refer me to the midwife.

I spoke to my nurse and had a blood test last week thinking that becuase they show results sooner than home preg tests I'd find out that way, that was 8 days ago, came back neg and still no period.
Have done 4 or 5 home tests now and still nothing, its frustrating, I just want TO KNOW!!

apparently round here they refuse to do bloods before 8 weeks due to expense and it's meant to be only for those at risk of ectopic but she's let me have one due to other concerns and other health problems but still haas to wait till 8 weeks.

The blood test will show beta-HCG levels (ie pregnancy hormone) days before a urine sample will give a positive result.

A blood test will give you a 'positive' result about 7-12 days after conception, but is more reliable 14+ days after conception (assuming you know when that was!)

Im 21 weeks now but when i had my 12 week scan they put me back in dates from what i thought i was according to the first date of my last period, which was what the MW based my due date on.

When i went back to see her at 15 weeks we worked out that i must of conceived on the 8th October and i got a positive 1-2 weeks pregnant on the 23rd October when i did 2 clearblue digital tests! So thats 15 days post conception.
I didnt think it could be that fast!

Maybe just wait a couple more days, my friend did 7 negative tests, and then 1 positive 2 days later, she then went out and practically emptied tesco's of PG tests and then every single one came up positive! She did that many tests because she had previously been told it was very very unlikely she would ever concieve. And me, I did 1 test it was negative, 24th sept that was, 27th came, still no period (about a week late) so I did 2 more tests and both were positive :) hope this helps!

In my first pregnancy I had a negative test, went to GP and she took bloodsample and came back positive.

Period was late this month, should have gotten it around the 4th... Did a test with Tesco-test on 10th of Feb and 14th of Feb... both negative...

bought a Clearblue digital one on Monday, tested yesterday and clearly stated PREGNANT :) I am about 5-6 weeks along...

That's excellent news guys. Hope yet then. Had a test done at minor injurys today as had an car accident. Nurse said it will assist with pain relief!

Still negative! Just don't know whether to take painkillers!

it was a bit unexpected...
only stopped my pill on 2nd of Jan...

didn't realise we would be pregnant that quick... took us a good 6 months for our first one ;)

With my 2.2yr old DS I had a positive when AF was a week late, With my 2nd pregnancy (which endad in mmc) I tested the day AF was due and got a BFN, then tested again when AF was a week Late and got a BFP!
I a 5 weeks pregnant today and I tested 2 days before AF was due and got a BFP!! so that was when I was 3+5 weeks pregnant! :)

I've tested positive at 9 days post ovulation. I always have symptoms that early too so assume I just produce hcg quite quickly following implantation.

My friend has 3 children and has never had a positive pregnancy test. Took blood tests every time.

I got a negative the day period due, then another negative 4 days later. However got that one out of the bin yesterday and it showed a very very faint line.... no such thing as a false positive! I am 5 weeks so only just pg really. 1st preg got BFP on due date. Who knows what's going on?

My period's been really short lately so I thought I was going into early menopause or something.

Surprisingly this month my period didn't come early, it was 28 days yesterday so I just did a Boots test - and its POSITIVE. I am flabbergasted, I'm 39, we have our two girls and this was not what I was planning for this year!!

Hi, me and my ex were trying for a child and for months I was always on time, however, i was a couple of days late for my period this month so done a preg test and it came back neg, we split up now due to violence on his behalf and I done a docs preg test still neg so i have a blood test app on friday, i am now nearly 4 weeks late and felt sick at the same time every night for a week and a bit. I am really worried, scared and dont want to be preg. I have been sick the past three nights, i dont know if its in my head as im so stressed out with it or whether i am preg? how far gone do you have to be before a blood test preg test comes back positive obv i dont want to waste time and money and my stressing.

Also my mum had probs with urine preg tests, she has had three kids but only got a positive off a blood test preg test. I just hope it is all in my head!!!
