Im now going to rant!

I hate my work cant wait to leave in 8 weeks. What I really hate is selfish people who dont care that Im pregnant and I have needs that are not mine but are for the health of my baby. My office is very hot the air flow is crap, so every day I open the back door to let some air in. I ask everyone whose in the office first if they dont mind and most of them are grateful for my suggestion. And then ten minutes later she comes in, and walks over to it and closes it without asking! And what is she wearing? A short skirt a skimpy top and not much else, if your cold love put on a jumper! I cant strip off anymore than I have already. You selfish cow!!!!! Today I actually said really loud that I wasnt aloud to get too hot as it could raise my blood pressure and I could also faint but she turned a blind eye. Arrrggghhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please tell me Im not being unreasonable myself or selfish?

No, you aren't being unreasonable. Some people feel the cold more than others .... like ME, but honestly I'd put the needs of the many before my own and just wear a frigging jumper!

Can your supervisor not have a word?

mousesma · 22/02/2011 11:52

If you want her to take your needs seriously then you need to go and speak to her and explain why the heat is so difficult for you.
Being passive aggressive and saying things loudly so she'll overhear is just childish.

Thanks girls, it just really got to me this morning. I will have a word with her and actually I think im going to ask to be moved to a different desk near a window so I can have as much fresh air as I like.
I blame the pregnancy hormones and lack of sleep this morning for my rant, I have calmed down now.

Easily done :) Hope you get your desk move.

I agree with mousesma. When I was pregnant at work, with my second, I worked in a different office. I didnt like it, and the boss was an old fashioned male bully - not just with me, but with everyone else too. Instead of talking it out with him, I ended up making loud comments to my work mates, knowing he would hear.
This obviously made him dig his heals in even more, and probably thought I was a moaning drama queen.
( I am actually the total opposite)
I just felt a bit silly after when i would get home, and wished I would just say something.
So I did one day, we had a huge closed door argument, and he actually told me he didnt know how to treat a pregnant woman!!
We compromised, and got on fine after that!
