BFP today, when do I contact the midwife service?

Hi all,

I'm two days late and had a positive test today so it all seems good so far. With DS I made a GP apt as soon as I found out, so saw him when I was officially 4+5 days, and he filled out all the relevant forms and informed the midwives who then contacted me about 2 weeks later.

Now I'm sure I'we seen on here that a GP apt isn't necessary. I know this is very early days and anything could happen, so what do I do next? Should I wait till I'm about 6 weeks and call the community midwives at my local clinic? Should I see the GP anyway? What exactly is the correct procedure, assuming everything goes smoothly?!

TIA

Congratulations Grin

Whether or not you see your GP depends entirely upon your GP practice/midwifery service. I'd call the GP surgery in the morning and ask - if you need to see the GP first you may as well get in there early and get referred, because otherwise you just end up getting held up in a few weeks when it gets to scans/tests etc.

Right away! Get in there early so that there is no delay for any of your appointments. Congratulations btw and good luck!

Thanks. I'll give them a call in the morning. May just make an apt anyway, don't really fancy having to navigate past the receptionists!

Oh and thnks for the congrats. Am now trying to work out how to hide it from everyone for the next 8 weeks. I was rubbish last time and the world knew by the time I had my first scan!
