Hello all,

Any advice on how to make a nice and safe cuppa?

30 weeks myself and although I know that my 5+ black teas a day habit is bit too much, I am still not sure what to replace it with. A lot (a lot!!) of information online, but most of it is negative - as in this tea overstimulates that and this tea can cause that and what not.....

Any advice on what blends, types, brands etc. you consider to be useful or any links to sources that you found helpfull would be very much appreciated!

Thank you in advance and good luck :-)

I dont know any spcifics but you must be ok so far on it!

There is alot of scary stuff out there even no foot spas ect so go with your instinct and if you really enjoy it why not?

If it was 20 fags and a bottle of vodka that would be different

If only something as simple as tea would make a difference, but it doesn't. Raspberry leaf being the exception but even that isn't proven.

Any normal herbal tea from the supermarket is fine. Caffiene limits for black and green tea are due to a very slight increase in miscarriage risk but I wouldn't worry about that by trimester 3.

Honestly, if something was going to bring on labour then most of the Childbirth forum would be drinking it!

I bought decaf Earl Grey and also camomile for relaxing. Peppermint will calm your inevitable indigestion but I went off it big style!

Try Tetley Redbush tea. It's caffeine free and as hydrating as water. It's naturally sweet too so you don't need to add sugar :)

Oh, Cowboylover, you made me smile like a big fat cheshire cat :-) 20 fags and a bottle of vodka are definitely on the to-do list, in, er, several months from now :-)
And sauna, and botox, and stinky cheese and wild gorilla sex :-):-)

HappyCamel, I have not been to the Childbirth forum yet... Might be a bit of a scary place? You are very brave!

Thank you, KenDoddsDadDog, will get some peppermint, definitely. Two birds with one stone. Sounds good
